15 screws just to open the back cover itself was a turn down for me. I had Asus X550D that have RAM slot on the flip side just like this. 10 screws for the cover and 8 more for the board, not to mention detaching and attaching the ribbon cables, just to upgrade 1 slot of RAM was exhausting.

Great video but breaking that factory seal and opening the laptop does not break your warranty with MSI if you still have it. I contacted them to ask before I waste 8 months of a warranty to add a SSD and I was told that it won't void anything.

The fans are really shitty on this laptop. they end up grindy. Replaced them 4 times yet. I think I did something wrong on the 4th time and now the laptop shutsdown randomly. Could also be the charger having an issue. (there is no battery since it ended up bloated after a year) but since it happened after the 4th time changing the fans, I doubt it. It held for 4 years with a lot of troubles along the way

Hi is the cpu fan supposed to make a whining noise? much sharper tone then compared to gpu fans when run at max speeds. Got my friends old p65, battery had bloated so ordered an new one. CPU runs really hot even after switching thermal paste and under volt. basically with only under volt it thermal throttles at 90c and drops down to 3.2ghz in cinebench, normal temps to you? What fans did you buy, from ebay?

I believe they say in the video that the touch pad and keyboard are not replaceable on their own. Then you would need to buy the whole bottom assembly separately and put your motherboard and cooling solution in and attach your monitor. I could be wrong but they mention it in the video before the cpu gpu fans come off.

Hi, I have this laptop! The internet is acting very intermittent, with it spontaneously turning off and on for no reason.this is after I dropped the computer. I tried twice replacing the WiFi card with no luck. The second time I brought it in for repairs, the store found some broken antenna for the WiFi and Bluetooth. To fix it, they taped up the antenna on both. While this temporarily fixed the Bluetooth, it did not fix the WiFi. The Bluetooth was quickly rendered unoperational after lightly bumping it against a door. At this point, it seems that the problem has to be the wire connecting the antenna to the back frame, as I suspect that this wire was frayed during the drop due to it being fed through a hole in the motherboard. Do you know if that would be replaceable? I would greatly appreciate a response, as I have been dealing with this problem for 9 months with no luck

Yes and there are two, stuck to the palmrest on this model. Just trace the antennas to where they go through to the top edge of the palmrest, and they will probably be just attached with adhesive. I see plenty of palmrest assemblies on eBay.... see this one for a good picture of the top where the antennas are attached (gold colored).
