To be able to help you we need your full model number, and description where the sparks are coming from. If the dryer had lots of fluff in it vacuum this away as shown in this video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/oqyOq8etldnUg9I.html Also when examining check the belt is on correct and nothing is catching.

    Hi Alan, there can be a number of causes for squeaking on your dryer. The usual culprits are the belt pulley (if fitted) the rear bearing wears (see our video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/pqlpz6OFdsrOodo.html ) or if the machine is not level and the cabinet twists causing rubbing (pack up one or other side at the front to stop it.

    We have known bra wires go through the holes, if this is the case it must be removed as soon as possible as it can damage the heater. Depending on model it is usually possible to remove the back panel and access the heater and any fluff that has built up. Excess fluff at the back can be a fire hazard so check this and replace the filter if damaged or not filling correctly.

    +Harry Wilson There are a couple of things to check. carefully examine all the drum holes as you may be lucky and find a 'bra wire' stuck through one hole and be able to remove it. Second if there is a wire under the tub use a torch to shine through and find it then use a small screwdriver to get it to the base of the drum. If you then remove the heater (see another video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/dXd3p9WanN3gkrw.html) you may be able to remove it through the heater hole.

The high pitched squeal happens once every revolution of the drum and can be reproduced by moving the drum around by hand while the machine is not in operation. Hello eSpares, I have an update regarding my LG washer model WM3370HWA. I changed the control board and washer functions normally. I have adjusted the water level in the machine by turning the adjustment screw inside the machine. The washer is not fully closed up, I still have the lid and rear panel removed. Yesterday I washed 4 loads of laundry, the extended 1 hour washes. All was going well until the 4th load. No strange odors at all. Left the garage and returned after the 4th load chimed completed. Wheñ Ientered the garage there was that strange odor of burning electric again. Leaned over the machine and found the odor was coming from the Direct Drive motor. It is a burning electric smell, and the motor shield was very hot. The board was also smelling as if it were getting too hot. I understand that electricity generates heat, but I think this is a tad bit too much, and in combination with this electric burning smell, something just is not right with this machine. It seems to only occur when multiple long timed loads are processed consecutively without time to rest the machine. I have smelled this odor before in a balast for my light timer. I could not figure out where the electric burning odor was emitting from until I checked the light timer under the couch and it had a brown burned spot on it and it smelled the same as, or similar to the washer motor. Any suggestions as to what to do? HAVE ANY OF YOU ever run into this issue before? The washer now sits in the garage unplugged and I'm concerned to use it. If there is an issue with the burning smell in the direct drive motor, and this issue blew the original board on me, then should the 10 year direct drive motor warranty pay for that first board? I could not find any isssues with any of the other parts that I tested prior to installing the new board. That board is expensive and if it is a motor issue that blew the original board then LG owes me for a new board. Yeah, just try to collect from them. Any thoughts or ideas will be greatly appreciated! What should I do and am I going a tad bit off the deep end with this machine? THx Robert

    My dryer just did one load fine. Then I loaded up a down comforter and some sheets, a job I had done only a week ago and all of a sudden I heard a noise that sounds like its struggling a bit. I tried it on each setting (cotton-high heat, wrinkle free-low heat and no heat/fluff). I opened and emptied the drum, spun it a bit, it seemed fine a little tight but that's probably better than loose. I tried putting just the sheets back in and still that grind/droning noise. What would you say the problem is? Which part needs replacing? Should I just let it rest for a bit and try again?

    Hi Sarah, you need to do a few checks to identify if you still have a problem. First with nothing in the drum try gently turning the drum by hand., it should have a little resistance but turn easily. If it is stiff or scrapes or makes a rumbling noise there is a problem and watch this video for more information: kzread.info/dash/bejne/qYmAl7mbYbedYcY.html If the drum is OK select a rinse and spin cycle and check how it fills and drain. If this is OK watch another video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/p392249yfqisZaQ.html

  • @eSpares

    @eSpares

    7 жыл бұрын

    Take the belt off and spin the drum, if it makes a rumbling sound it is likely that the bearings are going. The 'little bit of movement' may be significant. Watch the video again at: kzread.info/dash/bejne/qYmAl7mbYbedYcY.htmlm18s the drum on this machine only moves a few millimetres but the bearings are totally shot. The good machine shows no significant movement so if yours has movement suspect the bearings.

  • @eSpares

    @eSpares

    7 жыл бұрын

    Hi Kandrida, the 'black gooey substance' is this in the drum at the centre?, if it is it could be coming from the bearings or something that has burnt from the lint. If it is a gas tumble dryer the clicking may be the ignition tube trying to light the gas and the burner may need a clean especially if fluff has got down while cleaning it.

  • @Kandrida

    @Kandrida

    7 жыл бұрын

    eSpares the black gooey substance is on the outside outside in the center of the back. if I lean over the machine to look between the wall and the machine it looks like it's coming from where the drum is secured to the back panel. I live in a zero gas community so all appliances are electric only.

  • @eSpares

    @eSpares

    7 жыл бұрын

    If the substance is not coming from the bearings it is possible something may have come into contact with the back and it may not be from the machine itself.
