    Thanks, Joe! I appreciate the kind words. Search my channel for "Imperial". I"ve done a lot of videos on the ICV convection oven, which is very similar to the Majestic line from American Range. You could be looking at a solenoid valve, ignition module, flame sensor, or thermostat issue. Thanks so much for watching!

    Hello: Thank you for these amazing tutorial videos. We have an Imperial 72" burner/griddle with a convection and standard oven underneath. The convectional oven does not start unless we manually rotate the fan blades and then when it stops after reaching the temp, sometimes needs that manual rotational push again. It is also always clicking while working. Any help/suggestion would be tremendously helpful. Thank you.

    Your motor capacitor failed. Imperial sells a capacitor for one of the motors they used in the past. If they don't have your capacitor you would have to source out a capacitor or replace the motor. Keep in mind. there could be other issues with the motor and a new capacitor might end up being a temp fix. We would need a full diagnostic of the unit to confirm.

    Modules will need to be replaced every few years depending on care and use. if you notice any melting plastic on the module you could have gas pressure issues or even ventilation problems causing the hot air to not properly vent out the back. Keeping a clean flame sensing probe will help the module by making sure it calls for a spark only when needed.

    My guess is that the the flame sensor is not positioned correctly/needs to be cleaned. OR there is an airflow issue causing the flames to pull away from the burners/sensor. Make sure the sensor is in the flame, and getting hot enough. If so, watch the flames upon startup and see if they start to pull away of "float". Let me know! Thanks for watching!

    It will depend on your specific application, but you'll need to continue to work backwards and find out if 1) the contactor is not being energized or 2) if the wires that the contactor bridges are receiving the correct voltage. If the contactor isn't energizing then it most likely means that whatever tells it to call for heat (in a vulcan, this would be a temp control board) isn't. Possible board or probe issue. Hope this helps, good luck! And thanks for subscribing!

    Hi I have an Imperial 36" range with convection oven. Sometimes it cooks unevenly. A while pizza will be raw on one side and burned on the other side. I checked the fan and it seems to be running fine. The burner looks good too, blue flame all across the bottom. Is there anything else that can cause this? It's intermittent. The kitchen crew uses a fan near oven to cool themselves down, if this is aimed at oven could that affect heat distribution inside the oven? Thanks! Levon.

  • @Windycityequip

    It definitely sounds like an airflow problem and the fan could absolutely cause this. Also check for debris caught in the fan wheel in the back of the oven. This could also cause the issue you're experiencing. Thanks for watching!

    Could be a flame sensor. Could also be the ignition module or an airflow issue. Make sure you confirm that the sensor is in the flame fully after ignition and the flames themselves aren't "dancing" around, allowing the sensor to cool down.

    Hi i have a strange problem with my ICVG-1. the spark works fine, then i turn the t-stat up and the flames turn on. after some hour of working, some thing strange happen. i hear CLICK sound of main Valve but the flames don't turn on ! i turn down the t-stat and hear a click sound from it that means a temp turned down, but when i turn up the t-stat and hear it's click sound ! nothing happening and flame not show up. i will leave it for it self and some times the main valve and t-stat light turn on repeatedly very fast ! i mean really really fast for some times and then stop. then after a 10 ~ 15 minute oven flame turned on and working OK for the rest of the day! i check a t-stat with Multi meter and it works fine, i have to appreciate for you useful videos. Best Regards

    I've seen this before. Sounds like you may have an airflow issue. SOMETHING is changing in the atmospheric pressure and causing the flames to pull off of the burner and, in turn, off of the flame sensor. Either that or your flame sensor is dirty and is having trouble generating the millivolts to keep the solenoid valve open. With the kickplate ON, see if you can look through the vents on the front to see the flames. Make sure they aren't "dancing" or pulling off of the burners. If they are you may need to adjust your air intake, or gas pressure. Or look at outside influences IE AC/Make Up Air/Draft/etc

    I've seen this before, Check your door switch. It's either broken or stuck in the disengaged position. "Cool Down" is only supposed to work with the doors open and "Cook" only when the doors closed. So basically your oven thinks the doors are open because that switch never activates. Remove the kickplate just below the the oven doors, Locate the door switch (plunger style - Imperial Part # 1355) on the right hand side. This is activated by a "Collar" secured to the door shaft. With any luck it just needs to be adjusted (Button pressed with door closed, depressed with door open). Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!!

    Its not sensing flame. Make sure the flame sensor is not resting on the burner and the tip of it is in the flame. If it is try polishing it with some emory cloth first. If that doesn't work you make be looking at a sensor, wire, or module as the main culprit. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

    You probably have a flame sense issue. Make sure that the flame sensor is in the main burner flame all the way. It should be glowing red from the heat of the flame. If the flame "dances" or is "Wavy" you probably have an airflow issue and need to check your blower wheel from debris, ensure your building is properly air-balanced, and there isn't excessive draft blowing on or near your unit. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching!

    shair ahmad Noorzai I can definitely try to upload a video on that, however if your Lincoln oven is blowing a fuse, it could be SO many different things. Which fuse is blowing? It could be a shorted wire or a bad motor or maybe even just a bad capacitor on the motor.

    Sounds like a flame sense issue. Either a bad flame sensor or you have improper airflow. Try looking at the flames when it happens. If they "lift" off the burner, you have an airflow problem. If they dont, and your flame sensor is glowing nice and red, then you probably have a bad flame sensor, wire, or module. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

    I have a imperial oven with a ram 4 ignition module mounted on the back in a box. At first I was not getting a spark. I replaced the ignitor/pilot assy and got spark and pilot flame but no 115 volts from module to main gas valve. I then ran a new ignition cable from ignition module to ignitor. Still no main gas signal from module. I then ran a dedicated ground from ignitor to the green wire going into the module. Still no main gas signal. This thing is going to cost me a customer and all my hair unless I can figure this out. Hope you can give some advise.

  • @Windycityequip

    @Windycityequip

    7 жыл бұрын

    YES! I HAVE seen the solenoid valves affect the the voltage at the module. Is there any indication of water damage on the unit? Usually when there's multiple issues like that a short is involved. And usually that means they tried to wash it with water. If you find any indication of this, it just needs to be explained to the customer that water causes unpredictable behavior when combined with electric, which is why it is so difficult and time consuming to isolate. Two more questions tho: 1) Is the module new? and 2) Are you getting enough rectification from the flame sensor?

  • @freakyfred543

    @freakyfred543

    7 жыл бұрын

    The problem is not water that I can tell. The problem is heat. My customer keeps fajita plates in the oven and they keep it at max temp 500 degrees all the time. I told the customer that I did not advise doing this but their response was "we have done this for 20 years here" I also noticed a large amount of soot all around the doors and on the underside of the burner deflector. I thought that maybe that main gas valve had partially opened at some time and produced a yellow flame, but this is just a guess. The customer was keeping the wooden fajita plate holders in the oven for storage but I advised them that if someone turned on the oven to 500 degrees this would present a fire hazard. The module is a RAM 4, 115v, local ignition type. I have heard you can check rectification by putting my meter, Fluke 16, in series with the ground. When I did this my meter showed - 1.0 milliamps. This module has a .7 minimum rating written on it. I ordered a new pilot and main gas solenoid and I will let you know if this solves my problem. Yes this is the second module I put on it. The first new module melted after one day, after speaking with Imperial I learned that the RAM 4 does not have a safety internal to stop sparking and if allowed to spark continuously it will melt. 154.00 lesson there. Thanks

    +James Levings Sounds to me like the switch is bad. Usually 110v motors either work or they don't whereas 220v motors can drop a leg and spin, just not at full speed. I would bet that the switch is whats bad, if you're sure thats whats chattering. Some motor shops can replace the switch, but otherwise you would have to get a new motor from Imperial. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!
