    I realize this is an older video but thank you for the information about sulfur!

  • @Mindy56743
    @Mindy567435 жыл бұрын

    This is also adding sulfur to the soil. When the animals go they will deposit the sulfur back to the soil and then the plants will be healthier for this. Most people don’t realize that the problem with foods we eat now days is the minerals are not there anymore. Thank you so much for this information I will be buying both sulfur and DE for my animals this coming week!

    You're welcome! When my orchard is more grown up i will be running the ducks through it. One to fertilize the ground, two to eat all the slugs, worms and bad insects, and three weed control!

    I'll just add my inquiry about the flea issue also. I think I saw that you had a posted side note that you can use the super rub o on dogs. Definitely going to try that. Thank you for the video!

    Sorry to new to farm life so may be a dumb question but is this safe for 4 month old calves as well as pregnant calves? Also how much and how often would you feed it to them if safe?

    I love this video, Thank you so much! I would love to buy a bucket of sulphur but unable to find it anywhere, even online. Is it labled for something else I could try searching for? Also, my cows are not tame so we are unable to put the sulphur on them but can use on everything else here. Hoping to get a head gate and stall to be ale to work with them soon.

    Here in Canada, I buy it at the feed store. It's called Sulfur flour. Also garden centers sell it too in bulk for a soil amendment to increase the acidity of the soil.

    Thank you! I finally found it as a garden product and just assumed it's the one you used. The one I found is organic so should be safe for the critters 😊

    Linseed oil infused with camphor is also an excellent lice repellent, it works like magic. However this mixture is for external use only as camphor is slightly toxic.

    Yes, those are powerful herbs too. The toxicity of them is why I don't use it on my critters. I would worry to much!

    @@EverythingHomemadewithRita actually I keep buffaloes and if adult buffaloes don't get access to mudholes to roll in they sometimes get lice. Baby buffaloes are hairy like a bear and they might get ticks but adults generally don't get ticks at all. since adults have few body hair and their skin is so delicate and prone to crack in dry conditions that I avoid using powdery substances on them. I make ghee from yoghurt whenever I have extra milk as buffalo milk is rich in fat 7.2%-12.5% depending on breed. For that we first extract butter from yoghurt by churning it and then we clarify that butter to produce ghee. We feed the remaining yoghurt to all my animals, it is good for controlling internal parasites, digestion and immunity.

    I have much better results using DE for dogs and cats. For some reason the DE just does better with killing worms in dogs and cats over the sulphur. I don't knew why behind it but it works every time!

    Found answer When I treat them with sulphur for 5 days straight per month in the spring/summer months...I use 1/2 cup sulphur powder/flour per cow mixing it on veggies or fruit works great because it sticks so well. If you do oats just do 1/4 cup in 2 cups of oats. In winter I do sulphur rub once a month only.

    What about pigs? Do you know if it works with pigs and how much? I'm very interested in doing this method.

  • @EverythingHomemadewithRita

    @EverythingHomemadewithRita

    3 жыл бұрын

    Yes, it does work with pigs. I have used sulfur and diatomaceous earth with great results. With sulfur I just placed a 1/2 cup of it per pig in their food. Make sure it's some kind of moist food so the sulfur sticks to it. I also used 1/2 cup per pig of diatomaceous earth too doing the same thing with sulfur. I do this for about 1 weeks straight every spring and fall, once per day.

    Neither one has an effect on worms. Sulphur can have an effect on bacteria, not worms. Diatomaceous earth is like any other sand. The worst case of worms I have seen in poultry was in a bird fed diatomaceous earth regularly.
