Really excellent, constructive advice. I really like the idea of a little shoulder in before and after the medium trot, I have difficulty controlling the medium trot as it develops to an almost extended trot at the end of a diagonal with my little Spanish horse who is very enthusiastic!

Thank you for your comment about it being hard for them and not to overdo it. Pushing too hard also causes loss of rhythm. You know it takes years to develop dressage horses correctly. Many horses are bred for such beautiful movement that people assume but they can just go on with it not considering the amount of strength and conditioning it takes to keep horses sound. Dressage is also about straightness and keeping the longevity and soundness of the horse, for all horses, not just those bred for the competition ring.

You may need to ride the horse a little rounder and more over the back to get them coming more through from the hind leg. Cavaletti can also be really helpful and transitions.
