Just seeing the same things and knowing they are part of the process is fabulous. I also was not sitting often as he would get choppy and fall behind in the contact.

Thank you so much. This is the first explanation that I have seen on how to improve the horse's trot. It helps me understand how all the various exercises (leg yield, shoulder in, travers) fit together to help solve the puzzle.

This was so incredibly helpful Amelia! I have a haflinger and we have been struggling developing our trot, but after looking back at videos from our past few months our trot is really getting there! I’ve just moved states so I’m in between trainers, but your videos have really been helping us so much!

Good!! It takes time to develop the trot but it is possible!

Your videos are so helpful, thank you so much. I hope I'm interpreting it correctly. Lots of leg yields, shoulder in and short bursts of asking for bigger trot but keeping cadence and spring, so half halts before changes, then back to the trot horse is comfortable with.

I really find this video very helpful plus ur comments on why he will fuss with his head , as my horse does too, and I didn't know why, plus your emphasizing the stretch breaks confirms why my horse is always pulling down after doing more collected work, so I understand better how important that is. I'm still first level riding , just trying to get back to where I was at first level before all my surgeries. Thank u so much for explaining ur training methods. I never knew how complicated it is.

Oh thank you for adding another for improving the trot. I begged:-) for more when you posted the previous teaching using your gray PRE. I feel like I'm impatient baby bird in it's nest saying more more more. I've been on a two yr journey with this on my horse. We got stuck a bit, but I'm learning it is my seat not being free enough(injuries). As I'm listening up he is as well. Thank you Amelia

It is encouraging! I know exactly what you mean! @Amelia Newcomb makes those LOFTY goals seem so much more accessible to all of us! No matter the level of riding...right?? Its also ALWAYS SO wonderful and inspirational to see what a rider can achieve when partnering with a horse PROPERLY! Interacting with a horse with love, respect and seeing the horse as a trusted partner with whom, before you embark on training, you gain their respect as an equal partner! I love it!

Arabians are amazing! You have heard the saying, "Jack of all trades, but master of none."??? The Arabian horse truly blows that outta the water! They ARE capable of being The Master of ALL! SO capable! And their conformation TRULY tells you ALL that they are capable of! A horses conformation NEVER LIES!!

I love your channel and your content! If you’re able to, try and look directly at the camera lens, rather than the viewfinder. Some people find it distracting, it’s like you are not making iContact with your audience. Just one little thing that could improve your already great content/information!💜🙏🏼

Lots of half halts, and I slide both my legs slightly back to help keep the activity of the hind legs.

Silly question, I don’t see you pushing your heels down :)) this is what I hear the most ... “heels down”

It would be nice to see them being trained without a pain bit. We now know this is very possible to do and have witnessed it many times. You can have a horse do all of this without causing pain and foaming in the mouth. Lets all move to a higher level of consciousness with our beloved animal friends.

Horses are top ! Rider no seat, too much hands and work more than the horse. All the faults from "modern dressage". Its a pity

You forget to take into account what a nice person Amelia is and how usefull her explainations are. All for free. I suggest if you don't like her way of riding that you don't watch. She obviously loves her horses and is very kind to them 😊👍

MUSETTE JEAN PAUL Gerd got on my four year old gelding at a clinic a few years ago. He was tired at the end of the day and was downright abusive to my eager, good natured young horse. I regret that I did not stop it before he backed my horse half the length of the long side, causing him to rip out a huge hunk of his tail. The audience was horrified. Someone shouted to him that the horse was only four years old and I had to ask him to get off. He had been someone I looked up to. Then, I saw an angry man with a huge ego abusing a young horse because he was tired at the end of the day. He a actually came up to me later and said, “I’m sorry that happened to your horse.” As if he had not been the one who did it. It remains one of the worst experiences I’ve had in this sport. Things are not always as they seem- know that if you promote him, you are promoting someone who does not walk his talk. Thank you Amelia for your authenticity and the work you do to educate riders!
