HOW TO DETERMINE THE PROPER SIZE WIRE FOR YOUR AMPS
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Every Basshead knows the importance of having good wire in your build. Your electrical is entirely dependent on the wiring, therefor you want to make sure you know how much power your wire can handle.
In this video, JP gives some do's and dont's that can help ensure your system runs at its peak! It’s important to know which wire is best each specific product and install.
We have plenty of awesome, durable CCA And OFC wire at down4soundshop.com in the links below.

everything ive learned from building systems.... use ofc no question
Everyone who starts out in car audio always neglects or doesn't realize that your electrical is the single most important and expensive part of your system. If you can't afford the electrical then don't even bother.
Thanks for the video. Some definitely need this knowledge 👍
This is a great video Price!! I have always wondered this myself. Thank You !! :)
Running one run of 4/0 from under hood agm battery, to fused distribution block. Then 1/0 from block to Orion hcca 3000.1dsplx.

Atta boi, them dsplxs need healthy juice, those are so dope!
Very nice video. I come from Bass Mechanik and DJ Bass boy days. PPI and Orion did not have have huge connections I could afford them lol
I have dual runs of 0 gauge cca running to my sundqubed q1- 2200.2's that are strapped together. I'll upgrade to ofc when i upgrade my amps.
What about if speaker terminals on the amp are small but we're pushing an above 3k watts sub...Can I just use reducers for sub if I'm running 8gauge wire or is it best to just go with the appropriately fitting gauge
Make sure your grounds are well done to! All O gauge and running to freshly ground chassis or body panelling. All batteries grounded as well as the three on the amp.
I want to do a big system (12000w) in my truck, but idk how many batteries I should put, its a diesel and it has two already idk of i can just upgrade them and just use those.I really don't have a good shop around for that kind of stuff. Help please!
The speaker wire in this video looks like the cca power wire, is there ofc and cca for speaker wire?
I have two DC AUDIO 18’s d2 will be running DC AUDIO 10k and two DC AUDIO 1000.4 amps and one DC AUDIO 300.4 amp in suburban with Big 3 and 400 alt what and how many batteries ?should I run under hood and rear?
I would use 4 gauge power and ground wire with anything from 500 to 1200 watts. And, the longer your wire is, the more resistance it adds. So I would go with 0/1 gauge even with 1000 watts if the wire run is over 15 feet to be safe
Where can i get a 4ga speaker wire when I only see 8ga as the smallest on the website
*Me running 4 gauge wire on the output for my JP23*
👍👍
I recently bought 2 d’amore amps. A 750.1 and a 400.4, should I run a 0 gauge from the battery to a distribution block and dual 4 gauge outputs?

You can do that for sure, but if you ever want to upgrade the amp/s in the future you could do two runs of 0 gauge now and save yourself the hassle. The bigger wire now is great, only an extra maybe $20-50 and some 0 to 4 reducers, and when it comes time to get louder all you have to do is swap amps.

I would just run a 4/0 wire instead of two 1/0.
Great video dude. I can't believe there are people who don't have enough sense as they have cents. Don't underestimate $tupid
How important is it to use banana plugs instead of bare wire for the speaker output of a high-end amp? I am currently using bare wire, and other than a much cleaner installation, will I notice a difference in sound quality?

So i'm new at car Audio my Question is How do you connect three power and three ground i tried looking up on youtube but theirs is not any videos on this subject.

It depends… I’m probably not the best person you should listen to but you’d want to use three different grounding locations (all bare metal). You might be able to use the same location for all three, but I always used separate locations considering I use different locations for my batteries and amps. As for 12v power wire you can use three runs of wire from one battery or three runs from multiple batteries. Usually if you’re using three runs of wire you most likely have a huge lithium battery bank to support and utilize three runs of 0 gauge. With that you are pulling a ton of power. If I had to say three runs of over sized ofc 0 gauge your getting about 12000 watts max. But like I said this is as far as my knowledge goes. Someone with 20 years of car audio experience might have something else to say to your question.

What about size per length of the power cable?!

Yea, this is just like an elementary explanation, to keep people from burning shit up😂 It is a bit more complex than this lol

The longer the wire the more voltage drop.
Nice sales pitch Jonathan, but lets be honest ... Its all about the looks! When dealing with car stereo, most of the facts is overruled by looks, habbits and opinions. There are very simple calculations, involving power needed, length of the cable and allowed voltage drop, to determine which size cable you need. The amp. makers know this, and often use very conservative terminals on their amps. It looks better! I also use way bigger cables than needed, but only for the looks ... My education often tells me, i would be fine using half the cable-size. Thx for an awesome channel, you are doing great things for the community.
Best customer service and fastest shipping 😂 a joke ordered 2 diffrent times from them ship to wrong state first time and stuck at fedex for a week on second order then little girl is no help customer service
Yes it may be common sense for some people but most people have no idea what they are doing. And if a beginner asks a question online he will get 100 different answers, most from people who just answer by guessing. "yeh mate, 2x0,75mm2 is more than enough for wiring 2000watt sub"
It's amazing how bad some installs are I see. The way I see it. If you have to ask a question on here then you have access to the web... there's literally answers to almost any question out there on KZread or forums. So before you comment asking a question , maybe actually research it 🤔
Only use OFC never CCA. Trust

What do you feel the benefit is other than that's what everyone says to use ...? Because I know from my own experiments it doesn't effect sound or power ....and I agree it has to be better using ofc .....but like I said have run several test and there is literally no difference.....so what's your opinion on why ofc is better
@melissathompson7229

@@donaldwilcoxjr.5212well for starters it's science. Copper is a far better conductor than aluminum. Cca also turns to dust after about a year or two depending on where you live. Go check 5 stars video from a few weeks backs, they pulled out a piece of cca that swelled from 4 gauge to 0 gauge due to oxidation
Imagine the bafoone who us3s 8 or 12 g wire on a jp83 or 63?? Finny thing is that ive seen it on fb
