With regard to a tip you've proposed; incorporating memorable features into our character designs. What process would be the most useful? To be more exact, what would be a method that would help us decide on features that click with the character?

Typically, I use some aspect of the characters backstory as a waystone. For example, one of my characters wears a long heavily beaded braid in his otherwise plain hair. Story wise, the braid designates the tribe he’s from in his homeland. Usually I find that pointing back to the characters’ story helps me pick the most interesting and authentic features. Hope that helps!! :)

@@FifiMangaka It does, but that leads into another question: What if the features in question don't relate to their backstory? What then?

@@CaptiousClown It doesn't necessarily have to. My strategy in this situation then becomes; I like this, it looks cool but is this a practical design that I won't mind drawing several dozen times per chapter? (assuming you're making a comic) 😅

@@FifiMangaka I see what you're getting at. It's not a bad idea to implement a memorable feature that looks cool, but the practicalities should be considered. I would like to create a comic sometime in the future, but I'm just absorbing information for character design 😄
