Japan is crazy insane when it comes to shells, the Katakai Fireworks is a super giant shell that they launch on a giant tube made of metal

They didn't show the actual setup of the fireworks, which is understandable, as it mostly involves humping tube racks around, loading the correct shell for each tube...you know, the boring sweaty stuff. It's always either hot and dusty or rainy and muddy, something always goes wrong, and you swear that this is the last damned show you're going to do...and then the shells start going off, you feel the concussions in your chest, smell the smoke, and know you'll be working the next show, just like always.

Yea, alot of people just see the shows but don't realize the amount of hours that goes into it... Clean up included after the show. There were times we would easily have 12 plus hour days for a 30 minute show🤘. You're right though, nothing like the concussion of the shell's lift charge when they go off🤘.

More like 18 hours. You often start early in the morning and end it all the way to the next morning.

@@andressaja737 to much people in hospital due to covid. They dont want people with burns from firework to go to hospital so no legal firework=less people with burns in hospital. Atleast thats what they believe.

im a licenced pyro, we still manually shoot, we manually shoot becuase we cannot afford all the ellectronics and wiring involved as were a group of 5 volunteers who do shows for small towns for canada day and other holidays and most shows are less than 2K

You still doing manual shots? Or have the prices come down enough to be affordable? I'm looking Into getting my Pyro license

  • @mguerramd

It's not difficult to get a pyro license to shoot professional fireworks, if you are interested. Each state has their own requirements. It's also not too difficult to get an ATF license to possess and store them. If you want to pursue it, do so! I got my Texas state and ATF licenses and shoot professional shows, and also shoot professional product at my own private shows. It's a blast! My day job is eye surgeon... And by the way, I NEVER hand light.

Here in The Netherlands we throw those shells or place them in parks on the ground no tubes just on the ground en let the explosion go around and destroy things

  • @chrisashby4497

There are alot of variables involved in it. For the shells they just shot it's well into several thousand dollars. The bigger the shell the more expensive they are. I don't know about in other countries, or even in other states, but here in utah where I shoot them at only about 1/2 of the show cost is in actual product. The other half pays for the permits, the crew, insurance etc. I did a show for new years eve last year at a ski resort. The show cost was $13,000, and we had right around 600 shells and several cakes in that show. Granted we weren't able to shoot anything larger than a 4inch shell due to space constraints so we were able to have more shells in the show because we were shooting the less expensive ones. I hope this makes sense, and answers your question.

A rare look into the people behind the selection of lame, trite, cliche, boring fireworks music that the audience finds so pedestrian they are actually insulted by it.
