I heard someone (I don't remember who) say that keeping an item doesn't prevent it from going in a landfill but just delays it. They recommended that all of us try to be more conscious of what we buy in the first place.☺️ And your son did a fantastic job on all of his decluttering decisions! 🤩

My 5 year old apparently listens when I listen to your videos and clean and declutter. And I just heard her in her room saying “tossy tossy! Tossy tossy! Let’s make some space so we can have more room and feel better!” It was so cute!! Also she loves pepper

You're a Blessing to us yourself ❤. I just wanted to let you know that helping your children learn how to declutter is another important and Wonderful Blessing for them ❤️

You could put the gaming stuff on top of the cabinet if he clears a bit of room up there when you both go through that stuff. That way you don’t need to add more furniture (and clutter) to the room. Less is more! Great work, Tyler! 🎉

What great life skills that Tyler is learning from his mum. May I suggest that the electronic stuff be placed on a trolley so that it can be easily moved to use and to easily pull out to clean the area behind it. Ikea has a great range of trolleys.

Good for him. I toss, recycle, or give away at least 20 items each day. A bag of blankets and towels are going to the animal shelter. A box of glassware and dishes are headed to Goodwill. Kids grow and change. Needs change. Hobbies and interests change. Don't buy so much. Tina, Al's wife

I struggle a lot with this, but this made me feel a little hopeful about it. Tyler did a great job! He got rid of a lot of stuff, and that's hard. Happy and proud for the both of you! Parting with things is still a real, heavy struggle for me. But I would like to be able to do it. I would like to learn how to do it, and I think it's important to learn it soon rather than later. The way you framed it here was really helpful, so thanks for the video! I'll definitely come back to it later.

He did a great job! Would be nice if he put one whole shelve only with books and one with boxes and one with toys. Would be easy even for him visually to find stuff.

Homeless shelters and domestic violence shelters are usually happy to receive children’s books too. Contact them in advance though as they sometimes have limited storage capacity. I’ve taken children’s books to food pantries as well. Please call in advance too.

Tyler seems like a Butterfly. Are those crowded, fabric bins helping him to enjoy his toys properly? Maybe he needs a different system!

I can not believe what parents spend their money on. What a waste of a kid's mind. They learn better with way less. Put that money you would spend on junk toys in a savings account.
