How to cut & Weld a Dana 60 & 14 Bolt Shave Kit! | SUPER BEEFY - SO MUCH CLEARANCE
In this video, I get real sketchy and cut my 1 tons in half, then strategiclly weld them back together using Ballistic Fab Shave Kits to gain over 2 inches of ground clearance.

Nice vídeo man!!
Nice build I’ll be keeping a eye out for the Jeep I’m also in the same area
Real nice job Sure will make a difference once you're on the rocks.
Ear protection is as important as eye protection. Good video!
They are cracking from cooling to fast. I’ve mig welded tons of cast. Pre heat to like 400-425 weld some then check temps and pre heat more if you need. When I’m done I wrap whatever it is in a welding blanket and allow it to cool in there. Dirt lifestyle has some good videos out on welding cast also.

I'd like to use a 14 shaved and narrowed in a drag car weight is the issue but you can throw horsepower all day long with no worries 👍

They are insanely heavy
Use a porta band to cut
If your welds are good a shave kit does not weaken the axle like some say .
I don't much experience with cast..flux will help keep the weld from cooling off to fast, seems like you're trying to get the flux off as quick as possible. Did I miss something

We were doing that to peen the weld while it was hot, not to take the flux off as fast as possible. Peening it helps take the tension out of the weld and makes it less likely to crack when it cools. Taking the flux off also helped with allowing us to make multiple passes while the piece was still hot
