Without a doubt, it’s going to be nuts! I can’t wait to see these axles under the Jeep.

IMO jeep JK’s are still best wranglers ever. They are best mix between off-roading and todays modern creature comforts. And projects like these can be done without dropping large fortune (but definitely small one). Cool build

Honestly, I completely agree! I’ve owned, built and wheeled every model Jeep from YJ-JT now and the JK was the perfect point that the Jeep was comfortable to drive every day, but could still wheel the most difficult trails, and the extra width makes it look perfect with extra wide axles under it.

Great question! That is a weldable primer. It prevents the metal from rusting, but I’d able to be welded through without causing any problems in the weld. You can get it from companies like steel-it and Seymour

Also are running an aftermarket fuel cell or stretching the wheelbase?

This axle is for a JKU and it is using the stock fuel tank and factory wheelbase in the rear. The rear has been setup with a 3 link long arm suspension. I’m expecting some slight clearance issues with the pinion guard and the fuel tank, but I’m expecting that to be easily overcome with a little cutting

@Mud Tire Media bro I'm in the same boat. Can you please make a video on what you do with the pinion guard. And also did you weld the truss to the housing on the 14b?

Hey! Sorry about the late reply, somehow I missed this message. I’ll definitely shoot some video with an update about the pinion guard. We have been working really slowly on finishing the JKU just because of so much going on, BUT it is almost finished and we are doing some final adjustments this weekend. We mocked the axle up under the Jeep without the pinion guard installed. We already knew it would have clearance issues by what motobilt had told us, I’ll show where we will be making clearance cuts on it. And as far as welding to the housing, we did not weld the truss to the 14B housing, only because it has the pinion guard bolted so securely to the housing, it really is overkill already on securing the truss. I’ll be positing you more finishing videos of the JKU really soon.
