How to cut Tuftex Greenhouse Poly Panels THE EASY WAY
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Greenhouse polycarb/polycarbonate panels can be a total pain to cut. But with this simple approach, you won't butcher these sheets with bad, rough, "shatter-cuts", nor will you have to spend an hour trying to cut these panels with a utility knife. These can be used in tiny houses, tree houses, cabins, green houses, and more!

Another brilliant tip video. If the TV industry didn't eat people up, I'd wish that on you. You have great presence, and succinct delivery. Go get 'em.
Excellent video. Straight and to the point. I bought 3 sheets of this to put on the outside of my rabbit hutches. It’s going to be a bad winter and I’m tired of wrapping them up in tarps and keeping them in the dark. Everyone told me I was going to have problems cutting this but you made it look doable. Thank you
Thank you Deek, great explanation.
Howdy from Texas love bug-ees here in ft.worth too love your tiny house books. Thanks for the video in plan to use on my backpatio wall frame to give me and my neighbor some privacy.
Hi Deek! New England girl living in Texas. Thanks for the tutorial..love the T-shirt...lol!

Yeah, stopped by there recently when I was outside Austin- place was WILD!
I use a tile saw blade to cut this....it will leave a smooth edge...also you can put the blade on backwards it will cut very smooth...this is how i cut metal roofing too.
Glad to see you've been to TX! :)
We just built a $30,000 greenhouse for a customer. I just used a regular 40 tooth diablo 7 1/4" framing blade. It cut right through nice n smooth no problem
Very excellent !
FYI, the blue side of the film covering the sheet is placed on the UV treated side of the sheet. This side of the sheet should face the sun after you peel off the film. Presumably, if you do it the other way around, the Sun will start to degrade the sheets used upside down.

Good info
reverse the blade so teeth cut backwards it melts the poly instead of chipping. good video keep posting
Try putting your plywood blade on backwards on your table saw and feed through slow. Have done this for years, and cuts as clean as glass. Also works very well with melamine for cabinets. Just be careful to break the edge when done, as it is razor sharp.

Good tip- thanks- haven't tried that yet. My table saw is smallish though- so running a 4' by 8' sheet through it might be a little bit of a pain, but I'll still try it sometime.

Thanks for the video!! I'm getting ready to purchase Makrolon 48x96 sheet that's 0.04 thick. I need to make a curved cut can I do that easily with a circular saw? Thanks for your advice!
I enjoy watching you! Lol
Q? If I run the hose through or into the sheeting, will it not create moisture, which will green in time? I’m in UK so weather is very changeable. Thanks
Thank you
Wow... You found a straight board over 6'... I'm more impressed by that! My only thing I would have mentioned, to use a plywood as a table, and make sure you clamp your poly down...
Thank you!
Deek, how do i submit a design for your consideration? All metal framed very strong ...very low construction cost....light weight...easy to move without compromising structure.
What about a track saw? Have you tried it?
new subbie here ,,, will that tuftex can survive a hale storm?t hanks
Is that 4mil? Thanks!
Looks like it would make a great solar hot air heater

@@relaxshacksDOTcom D'oh! I missed it. Thanks man!
I've heard that WD40 will remove Sharpie, I do know that isopropyl rubbing alcohol will remove it. I use it (isopropyl) in my work a lot for cleaning soldering flux. Linda and I send our best.

if you write on top of Sharpie ink it will wipe right off with the old stuff.
Isn't he supposed to turn that blade backwards when cutting plastic
I am not seeing any links.🤔
Literally clicked on this video because I saw the Buckee’ t-shirt😂
👍
Why not just clamp the board you used to the tuftex and use it as a guide for the saw? Its what I do to break down large sheets of plywood.

I do that too- but can't find my clamps half the time and have a good enough steady hand.
Why have the comments been disabled on your older videos? Going back 4 months looks like the cutoff point.

6 and a half minutes for a very short answer: use a circular saw wit a very fine blade (140T)

I WISH that I'd run down the comments first - and to **ss me off even more I'd already got me a fine blade.......at least I only wasted 3:23 of my life
I don't know what he's talking about with "shatter cuts". Polycarbonate doesn't do that in my experience. Acrylic (plexiglas) is one that will shatter. You should use carbide blades for either one though.
its the right blade but works better when you put the blade on in the other direction. REVERSE it.
140 teeth blade eh
140 teeth 😉
No, Deek *FLIP* the blade, make it run backwards, will cut sweeeet cleeeen, it will cut vinyl siding wont tare, have fun

I works pretty well this way. Standard/rougher blade flips have never worked as well (for me) as people claim they do. Of course that will depend on the blade and its condition.
LOL Save $ & time.
