Dude, I've been cutting my own hair during lockdown with increasingly distasterous results AND whilst following KZread tutorials! I've just used your method to blend the top with the sides and some sort of magic happened and it now looks like a half decent haircut 5 mins later. Genius dude! THANK YOU SO MUCH. I'll venture out tomorrow without wearing my cap😂

That's brilliant Melkor. I love a success story 😁😁😁🙌
I've been cutting my own hair for a few years now with mixed results, watching tutorials and trying to improve from time to time. But this is the first video that really clicked it for me and the results has gotten much better since. This technique is really easy and foolproof. Thanks for a brilliant tutorial, you've made a lot of people happier!

I just use a number 12 guard i got from amazon works fine, number 12 leaves enough hair to comb hair back compared to a number 10 which leaves my hair spikey 😂😂😂
@JR-vr6ri

@@thatguy3213can I ask what mm is your 12 guard you normally use?
@thatguy3213
2 ай бұрын
@@JR-vr6ri yes, the 12 guard is 38 mm I first bought the number 10 guard to test which is 32 mm but it left my hair spikey after I took a shower since hair was still short, but with the 12 guard it left just enough length where I could comb it back without it sticking up 😂👍
I graduated from honest to God barber college & cut hair for several years and never knew about this! As soon as I finished watching your video, I used my old Oster clippers and attachment and gave myself a hair cut. this IS the easiest way to cut your own hair and foolproof (unless you are a HUGE fool and had way to much to drink!) Fantastic video!!
Absolutely what I was looking for! So many videos on KZread are overly complicated. I truly appreciate you showing us your methods. Thanks a million!! 👍🏻👍🏻
just got the wife to try out your method on me, I was beginning to look like something from a dodgy 70's movie, absolutely brilliant ! I cant thank you enough, I feel human again. top man.

Well done Mike and especially well done to your wife 🙌🙌🙌
Have done this four times now and it works brilliantly. Thank you Michael!
I've been cutting my hair for years now and it was only recently that I got a compliment when I followed your method. Thanks!
Wow. Works very well indeed. I've tried a few times to cut my own hair over the last year with limited success. Despite being a bit apprehensive about using the clipper this way, this method is by far the easiest with the best results. Got my wife to finish the back edges, and around the ears. Thank you very much - appreciated!
Dude, you are by far the best guy on here for self-haircuts. I have saved so much money by following your videos and I can't believe how quick and easy it is. And I appreciate everything barbers do but I'll never go back
Super helpful. I've gotten confident about cutting the sides and back, but couldn't figure out how to cut the top or upper sides without a lot of stress and time. Thanks for saving me time, money, and stress!

Been cutting my own hair since COVID lockdown but was never pleased with my blending techniques on the sides and trying to use scissor cuts on top. Tried the with the grain technique and will never go back. The top and sides are as even as they used to be with the pro barbers. Thank you sir!!!!
just did this an hour ago and it worked much better for me than i had anticipated. thanks for this great tip!
I've done this twice now since covid started and the second cut is even better than the first. Thank you for the no BS beginner friendly tips!
I've been cutting/trimming my hair for ages. Your tutorials are great. Will continue to watch them. You are a true professional.

The best self haircut videos on KZread. Thanks for your straight forward instructions and advice. You gave me the tools and courage I needed to cut my own hair without worrying too much that I would screw it up. I've successfully cut my own hair 3 times since April thanks to your videos. Stay well Michael.

Brilliant tips!! I have been cutting my husband's hair and I'm fine doing the back but get a bit lost on the top and sides. I will do this next time. Thank you
Thanks for this. I'm giving hubby a Covid Cut this weekend, and this is a great tutorial !! Also..you could recite the Privacy Agreement for Apple, and I'd still listen...lovely Scots brogue !
Thanks! The top is such a struggle for me. I'll definitely give this a shot 😀
Such a help mate, brilliant!
I think ur the easiest to understand amongst all I’ve seen in the last 1 year
Fantastic. You made my self haircut going forward a lot easier. Wish I seen this video earlier this morning.
I’ve been cutting my own hair for over 30 years. Based on 10 cuts per year at $20 per cut, I estimate that I have saved well over $6k ! Guys.....you can cut your own hair.

I’ve learnt such a lot with this video, more than any other self cut on KZread. Firstly to keep the blades in the closed position as they cut better, the video is must watch based solely on this piece of advice. Next your blending technique using the different guards in different directions while respecting the skull shape. Thanks for this.
Hi bud just tried this after watching you do it and it worked out brilliantly. Mega thanks .
I bought myself a hair clipper set for Christmas and gave myself first haircut today using your clear, concise, informative and entertaining instructional video. I learned a lot and felt confident. My first haircut, I'd rate myself an 8.5/10...with practice it'll get better! Thanks mate couldn't have done it without you ✌️ PS. as a woman with a longer hairstyle, I used an 8 on top, 7 on the side, 6 on neck taper. Fantastic results with your "cut with the natural direction" method.

FINALLY another woman on here. Can I ask what kind of hair you have? Straight, wavy, curly...I wanna do this myself but with my hair it's hard to tell if it'll behave
This is so good! I was trying to cut my hair like a barber does with the fingers and it takes forever and never ends up uniform. This takes like 5 minutes and your hair is actually all uniform. Amazing! Thanks

That's great to hear. I'm glad this has been a big help to you. It can be done. All I'd say is and I'm sure you know this anyway. Even if you are getting good at cutting your barber will produce the highest standards for you as they can cut without mirrors and generally have all the tools.
You deserve wayyy more views super underrated thanks so much 🙌
Love the video. Used your method 4 times now and no longer go to get a haircut. First time was OK but got better the more I did it.
Thanks for sharing this! I'll try it out on my next cut
Thanks for this vid, it come in so handy knowing how to do it easily on my teens mop! It really does help 👍

My hair was a Covid mess. Long and uneven as hell and bushy. Following your instruction I combed it down all over an then just whacked it with the 9mm on top and all around, just working downward. It looked great in 5 minutes after some work with the 6mm as you suggested. Very pleased, very easy and I'm confident to try it again. It looks a lot better than I'd dared to hope. Thank you.

Brilliant. I do my husband's hair. Great help.
Wow, you are a lifesaver, I've been cutting my own hair for decades and after all that time i never thought about going from the back to the front! I can't wait to try this 2morr. And you're absolutely right, if you cut the top from the front to the back, it'll just hack it all off. 🙏🏻👍🏻🙂

Thanks for doing us a solid out here in youtube land. Subbed.
After looking at other methods, yours seemed to be the easiest and it gave me the results I wanted. Used a 12mm on top and came down the sides with a 9mm. Turned a mop head into a respectable look. Now just have to maintain it every 2 weeks and all done. Thanks for the great vid's from the back woods of Alabama USA

Nice haircut ❤️ Thanks for sharing your tips👍
I've started doing 2 months ago self haircuts. Always wondered how to cut the top, and the sides, and blend the side fade. This is insane technique really! So easy , and simple , and it just works! The only thing I need to practice is behind. Even with mirrors I can't make it good. I mean I did, but I need time really, while side fades and top I do fast, especially after this tutorial! Thanks a lot man!

After a year's worth of DIY haircuts based on a number of KZread videos, for myself and my boy we ended up with some really questionable results. But I have to say your video is the best one ever. So easy to do. I shall be making a contribution to your page :) Thank you from myself and my boy from Bradford, United Kingdom

Super grateful for your videos. Been cutting my hair on and off for the last 8 years. Always has just devolved into a buzz cut I ultimately loathe. Using your methods I’ve finally got a self cut I’m actually satisfied with. Thanks, man. Keep it up!

@@theoneminutebarber I wanted to ask a potentially dumb question...so I’m wanting the top of my hair to grow out more. Would it be best to just do the sides and top side blend and skip the top or continue doing as shown so it refrains from being too bulky? If that makes sense
@theoneminutebarber
3 жыл бұрын
Just leave the top Dustin. When it comes to hair there isn't really any rules as to what is correct. By all means keep the sides neat and let the top get some length. My most recent video was the first time I'd cut the top in three haircuts.

Hi Michael..love love love your videos. Would like to see a video on finishing off the back of your head..ie: for those of us who wear our hair a bit longer? How to get that nice straight line across the back of the head, and around the ears etc. I'm having small problems in this area and need advice from a pro like yourself! You rock Michael! 👍

John I'm making a video on this subject. Generally I'd avoid a neck line and go for a tapered finish. A taper gives a cleaner regrowth. The neckline looks great too but as the neck hair regrows the clean finish is messy qicker.
