Whoa I’ve been watching hair cutting tutorials all day and everyone keeps saying “if you make a mistake you’ll end up with horrendous hair” and then i hear her say “don’t worry, you’ll always look beautiful”, now that’s the kind of positivity we all need in our lives!!

Just wanted to add that I did this hair cut 5 days ago and yesterday I went to the salon to get my hair colored and when I told the Beautician that I had cut my own hair she started combing through it to see if she needed to fix anything and she couldn't find ANY problems with it. She told me it was a perfect haircut! Thank you again for sharing this!😊

@@youtubewatcher6323 this is so true... Have you ever thought about how it's so cute when some salons are full of elderly women getting their hair trimmed and styled once or twice a week. Lol My grandma used to take me with her and that salon was full of regulars, typically older women. I think they go so often so they don't have to do their hair throughout the week. I'm sure they also go bc they get tons of compliments from the stylists and get to gossip. Gotta manage that perm lol I love old people, they're great in every way. Random comment I know 😳😊

Ok, ladies and gentlemen....I was JUST about to head off to Toni & Guy tomorrow and drop about $100 to get my wavy, one-length hair layered and stress about whether the hairdresser was listening to me or not...then this. HOLY COW. This super simple technique she demonstrates above WORKS beautifully! I just did it and I'm so impressed. You can go as long or short as you want. I cut my "unicorn horn" right at the tip of my nose. Got perfectly layered hair just past my shoulders. NICE! I may never go to the hairdresser again. Thank you so much!!!

So I cut off a little more but it's still quite long at the back and I like it. I started out with chin-length sides and got braver and braver. This time I worked my way up from the lips to a cut at just below my nose. That's the important cut. The side length. Do a month or so at a time. Test it out. And I have separate bangs that I got from The Salon Guy videos. I'm saving a fortune and I know what I'm doing after watching the videos. Go slow.

Loved the video. It is one of the best for layering hair. Your Step By Step instructions were spot on. It was a beautiful look on you when you took it down. I have very long hair and am going to try this. Im so tired of paying $100 to have my hair cut. Wish me luck and Thank You for the video!

Been holding off from trying this but actually did it this morning! Amazing. I cut off nearly 18" from the second cut and it turned out brilliantly! Thank you so much for sharing this, it does work x

Frances I totally get it. It can be VERY scary cutting your own hair. Especially when you have spent so much time getting it to be so long. But I promise you the whole point of this technique is that you get to keep your length as much as you want. And even when you do cut off a lot of dead ends you still have lots of hair left! Please check out the updated version of this video that I did recently. My hair is MUCH longer but I go through the same steps, answering more questions and showing off the finished look a lot better. Would love for you to check it out- I hope it would boost your confidence! You can do this! kzread.info/dash/bejne/l56utriRpqXVnpM.html

My first diy haircut ever and it looks good! All salons are closed in London so had to get the scissors out. I will definitely do it again and experiment around it. Thanks and hopefully you feel the love that you are getting from us. One recommendation would be to get pro scissors.

Just did this. Haven't checked from the back yet (don't feel like doing the mirror gymnastics rn) but can confirm stunning layers up front. Thanks so much! Saved me some precious $$$ I can't afford on "luxuries" right now.

You are gorgeous and your hair looks great!! Thanks for showing us what it looks like to actually cut a reasonable amount of hair rather than the videos where less than an inch is taken off making it hard to see how the cut will truly turn out. I did this last week and took off a few more inches than I first planned, including the overall length, but I needed it. I feel much fresher now :)

i have looked at and tried sooo many different techniques, but this one is perfect. my hair is just barely too short to do the second ponytail, but i put all but the longest part of my hair up and trimmed the very ends, and it looks awesome. thank you so much for posting!! also, the feathery technique is much easier than doing a straight cut to get rid of length because you don't have to soften up that super blunt chop.. just trim it until it's short enough
