How to Cut a V Shape Into Long Hair
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
How many of you have clients asking for cuts with angled fronts -- hair that can move back away from the face? Sam facilitates this look with a very simple technique. Instead of trying to carve out the angle in the front and the 'V' shape in the back, we will learn to cut the interior and the shape will appear!

I'm a hairstylist student and I tried this method for the first time on a real client and I was a bit nervous because I took your advice instead of my own teachers (they tend to have a different way of doing this) but since I've watched this method I found it easier to do that long layers "V"cut on my doll I was willing to try it on a real person and it came out GOOD! I was shocked and proud of myself! Thanks SAM VILLA! 😉

Intelligent. Professional. Not intimidating. Patient, positive, kind. Bar none one of the best instructors I have ever seen. You Sir, are a wonder of this world.
I did this technique on a clients hair and the end result was gorgeous. And it took half the amount of time than my old technique. Thank you for sharing this video.
This guy is so cool, informative and sweet. And I'm not even a stylist but enjoying listening to him.

This is how I felt in the beginning and now I'm already 3 months in hairdresser courses:))
omg. you have saved my life. ive been trying to do the v for so long. trying to make it even on both sides and then trying to put in Vshape layers. this is perfect.
Sam, thank you so much. I graduated from cosmetology school six months ago, and this is the first time that a "more complex" haircut has made sense to me. I actually teared up -- I could see what you were doing and why it would get you there. Thank you thank you thank you!!!

I know you made this video a long time ago but today was the first time I did a V Cut. I followed your lesson exactly and the cut turned out great!! I stress out over hair cutting anyway and I was really nervous to do this cut but I just followed your steps and now I am super excited because it turned out so well! Thank you so much for making these videos and sharing your wisdom! Your reminders to keep things simple are a life saver! Your amazing!
So i'm actually preparing to get into barber school this month but I love lengthy hair styles also, so here I am, trying to learn as much as I can from both sides of the short and long styles. i've watched another tutorial besides this one from your channel and I love it, very simple, straight to the point. Amazing stuff :)
"Never fear, Sam's here" love that 😂😂
Love the video Sam. It took me a few to think backwards at the pivot point but u explained it so well that it sunk in like quick sand. Thank you so much
Thanks Sam !! You are a wonderful teacher.

you are a great teacher ! I loved watching you at the IBS in NY this past march. I love this technique, it reminds me how I used to use this when I would cut a savage haircut in the 80's
Amazingly simple technique for a really great result. Sam is the best !
Thank you!! When you know you know! Sam Villa is a name to respect
I am a hair dresser for a long time and know a few different ways to cut V. Yours definitely adds to to my favorites. you are very sincere in giving your techniques to others. God bless you.
Woooowwww !!!! Thank you so much Sam.. Your fingers move with the scissors like butter. Lovely Tutorial.
This video was great, Sam :) You're very detailed and informative, and you model all the steps from all different angles. So great, I loved your video!!!
I've been watching you for years I love your videos you make the whole idea of cutting hair feel natural
Tried it & loved the results. TY so much for all the teachings.
This is interesting because so many people have been getting that longer in the front look for so long (shorter in the back with layers to longer in the front) but now they are wanting the opposite of that and this is just the ticket, thanks for sharing this Mr. Villa
You are such a great teacher Sam! Thank you so much for giving me the education I've been craving. I watch you every day before cosmetology school.
Wished I saw this before my client came in Sunday......I will apply this to any V cut from here on out...thank you!!!
You are a great teacher! I will be watching everything I can find with your name on it...thankyou so much! Cheers! Ena
I love this technique. I just wish you would have shown at least a photo of the hair after it was styled. Thank you for making terrific videos, Sam!
After practicing this, it is one of my most favorite cutting techniques. Thx!!
I did this to my own hair today. It turned out great, this video helped me tons thanks!
Hey sam I cannot that’s unbelievable how easy it could be , thank ya
I tried this technique on a client and she LOVED it!!! The only real difference is that in the front I had to use an excisting bang to start as my guide and this client had really thick hair, so I had to take much smaller sections. Saved me a ton of time!!! Thanks Sam!!!
Thank you Sam ,I thought this took to long for the clients but this is way simpler
this is a really great tip and ive been trying to use this on myself when im cutting my own hair and it makes it so so easy for me. thank you so much sam, you've made me learn so much through all of your videos n tips that you've given !

Awesomeness....Gotta a Client that will luv this cut!!!! Thanks!!!
Oh my GOSH! I have tried this technique and it worked great!
Definitely helped me cut my hair decently... i cut it on a whim and totally didn't think how i should do it then i remember this.. it turned out rather nice!
Thank you so so much for this tutorial. I just don't have words. I have typical indian close to waist hair and have always had some sort of layers or graduation if you will in my hair for managing volume. But then for some reason I could never get the V the way I wanted right until.. this video🥰🥰. I have customized the steps to fit me as I cut on own hair and I'm not a hairdresser so it might not even be as organized as professional one but I love every second of it and the more I do it the better it gets 🥰🥰 Thank you so much Sam you are an angel 😇 ❤
Great explanation, thank you so much Sam Villa. You rock👍
Loved this! It was so helpful and made so much sense! I am now subscribed and looking forward to watching and learning more.after all in this line of work, you should never stop learning..Thank you again!..

WoW!!! Absolutely amazing hairdresser and excellent teacher ;) practice makes perfect! Xx
My boyfriend wants to put me through beauty school after I cut my hair again recently-! It must have come out nice-!! It wasn’t this particular method, but I keep the V. I can’t thank you enough for all that you share!! ❤️💕 It gives me the confidence to maybe take him up on it once schools open back up! 😭
thanks sam! i tried this method for the first time and it turned out pretty good. I need to work on my cutting technique tho because when I did the first side i was cutting it wrong , it took me a couple times watching this video to figure out how and wich way you were cutting when you flipped the hair over the comb. By the time i got to the second side it turned out good. Thank goodness it was a practice doll lol. I just started cutting hair a few months ago.
you are an excellent teacher. Your videos are the best.Thank you.
LOVE THIS!!! gosh i learn so much from you guys

I went to a new stylist for a cut, after the first wash at home the hair turned into a super thick pyramid. I went back to the stylist with Sam's video, she cut it as he instructed and it looks super fabulous.
