I wouldn't bother with the electrical tape but then again everyone has their personal touch. I prefer black hockey tape because it grips and wraps around the edges and is more apt to stick together if scraped on an outdoor court. Electrical tape comes apart as does the edge guard tape.

Nice video. I really appreciated the no frills speed with explanations. Why add the electrical tape on top of the edge guard to then be covered by the Prolite edguard armor tape, rather than just use the Prolite edgeguard armor or just the electrical tape alone? Thx

Thank you. There was no point to adding more tape on top of the edge guard, just kinda went with the flow there adding more weight vs. looks/style. I guess the point of the video is to have fun customizing your racket to just go for it until suits your wants/needs hopefully improving your game

if you are right handed you wrapped the grip tape in the wrong direction. I do like the width of the lead tape, more stout then what I've been able to find. Nice quick video. Have you been hitting with the paddle for a while? How do you like it and did you change the lead tape application (control v.s power)??

Yes, I am right handed, didn’t realize that I wrapped the handle wrong. This lead tape is perfect for 16mm. The paddle, I love it (CRBN series is of great quality). Also, yes I changed the paddle setup regarding the grip, lead tape and guards a few times.. I think it best to experiment until you feel you have the perfect balance

@@dfy I'm going to have to pick up that lead tape you showed, I like the wider tape. I like the way you did the video, right to the point, keep the content coming! I might have to pick up the crbn1 to try out. I wish more paddle mfg's would use the octagon grip! So much easier knowing where your grip is for the fore hand v.s. the back hand.

Haha, I was just messing with the style/design of the “paddle” (apologizes for calling it a racquet lol) - The point of the video is to just show that Pickleball paddles are customizable and not to be afraid to obtain the perfect balance/style by creating your own unique weapon; I mean paddle😉

that is a LOT of lead tape dude. How much weight did you add? It looks like 2 full ounces at least. I added .5 ounces to the throat to make my paddle 8.9 ounces - which is on the very high end of heavyweight. That much weight to the top must make that thing feel like a sledgehammer. Also, why use 2 layers of tape around the outside? You can just tape over the lead tape with the edge guard....no need to do electrical tape over lead tape, then edge guard over electrical tape. Edge guard is pretty much the exact same thing as electrical tape anyways.
