    You are right - maximum improvement. I challenged myself to 10 days in a row for 10 minutes. Doesn't sound like much, but it really translates to my game on the court. I'm loving it so much, I'm now doing 15 minutes! Thanks for all your videos on wall drills🤩

    What I've always loved about your videos and I recommend them to people all of the time is that you focus on a specific drill and then explain it so clearly while also providing great camera angles to show what you're doing. And they all feel actionable.

    Thanks Jordan. I love these kinds of videos, there are times I don't feel like group play and need to work on the basics. I've been out for 2 months with a back injury and now that I'm healed I must begin all over getting back in shape physically and start working on my game basics again. Look forward to your upcoming drills. Thank you..

    Jordan, I always enjoy your videos and I've learned a lot from them. When I practice dinks against the wall, I try to make sure the ball is descending as it hits the line on the wall I am pretending is the net. This is fairly easy to do while drinking at the wall, and I think it more closely mimics what I am trying to accomplish than just hitting the ball above a line on the wall. When I practice volleying against a wall, I try to alternate between hitting shots like you are hitting in this video and hitting shots that start to descend before hitting the wall. Once again, I think this more closely mimics what I am trying to accomplish than just hitting the ball above a line.

    I have played on several pickleball courts. I started playing at our local YMCA and the color of the court, the wall, the ball and the lighting of the court make it a little more difficult to play. Where I play at our local church the color of the floor and the color of the ball makes it hard to tell if the ball is in or out. The Kingdom pickleball court looks like the ideal place to play. The environment looks like a lot of effort went into the planning of the court and its environment. Looking forward to the next video. Thank you Ben

    Another really good drill but that is very hard is a modified version of the double touch drill. You start on the forehand side and hit it to your backhand. On the back hand touch instead of hitting it straight vertically for the backhand double touch you chip the ball back across your body to the forehand side before hitting the forehand volley at the wall to the backhand. I find this drill really helps with backhand resets and also creating space for the forehand around the right hip area where most people get jammed up in hands battles and on forehand resets. It’s definitely a hard drill but well worth the effort.

    I thank you for your videos they have help me. I am watching you play a game on you tube and I have a tip for you. I have learned that when a player is retuning the ball from on side of the court do not hit the ball to the other side hit the ball to where he is. He is going to the center of the court and thinks that you are going to hit the ball to the other side. It is hard to change direction so hit the ball behind him not in front of him in the direction he is going. What do you think Ben

    Wouldn't it be important to have a second upper tape line on the wall about 12 inches above the net height line to practice dinks and resets? And, while the volley practice drill may help develop eye-hand reflex skills, it appears to reinforce hitting up to your opponents vs. lateral or down.

  • @BrionesPickleball

    @BrionesPickleball

    4 ай бұрын

    You can do that if you want. No, volleying on the wall like this does not reinforce pop ups. If you can control the ball against the wall like this, then you can control the height of any ball.

    I love this video! I have a concern about though- I see your feeding the balls on the volleys high up on the wall. I know from experience w/ drilling on the wall if you do it straight ahead it comes back way to fast. However, in a game if I was to feed the ball that high like that wouldnt that be an opportunity for my opponent to slam the ball back?

  • @BrionesPickleball

    @BrionesPickleball

    2 жыл бұрын

    Yes. It’s all about technique and control. You can also adjust and get closer to the wall and hit it closer to the line. This was just an example. So adjust accordingly.

    Why focus your eyes straight ahead. I get not tracking the ball entirely to the paddle face but why not look at the ball much at all but instead looking at the wall?

    Try it, you don’t have time to watch the ball

    One thing I've also added to the wall drill is a reset shot. I'd hit either one or twice real hard and then do a reset. Found out I was reaching for the reset shot too much, which usually lands in the net. Now I've had success just resetting closer to my body just from this added drill.

    Would have thought at some point you would use the practice paddle you offered recently....maybe in part two and or three

    The ball would be easier to see if it contrasted the color of the wall more.

    Why would you practice popping up volleys? Things you practice you end up doing in a match and those will just get smashed back at you...

  • @BrionesPickleball

    It’s All about technique and consistency, if you can’t volley the ball back to yourself off a wall, you won’t be able to volley it in a game. Don’t worry too much about where it “would” go for wall drills. When you do drills on the court, that’s when you should focus on where your balls are landing.

    @@BrionesPickleball i was wondering this same thing. The volleys looked like they would be pop ups.
