When I do controllers either dipping or pouring, I use the 3M foam earplugs (the earplug container has orange and purple plugs). I then insert the earplugs into all of the smaller holes. Also, insert earplugs from the underside. This will insure you don’t peel paint off when removing. If you forget and for the larger holes when paint makes the directional pad and thumb stick holes too thick to use, I use different sizes of gun cleaning brushes. Install the size of brush you need into a cordless drill. Shouldn’t need a cleaning rod.
