    Are you a guitarist? I’ve been practicing 8 hours a day for about 6 weeks now and idk might have carpal tunnel or tendinitis who knows but I don’t know what to do I already herniated 4 discs in my low back a few years ago so now if my passion is taken from me and I can’t do anything else because of my back I’m just going to off myself and restart I guess

    For anyone in these comments with what they believe to be a tendinopathy that just won't go away no matter what they do, especially if you have pain in other parts of your body, please please PLEASE look into neuroplastic pain and read "The Way Out" by Alan Gordon. I can't believe what a turnaround my condition's had ever since I started learning about this area of pain science.

    I have swelling and "creaking" on my hand above the pinky. I dont think it's a boxers fracture cause it feel identical to.the tendonitis I had same are above wrist. Are the tendon stretches still targeting tendons in the hand itself? Or, should I be stretching the fingers more so in a similar way?

    Should I do these stretches if it hurts when I do them?

  • @petewest3122

    @petewest3122

    2 жыл бұрын

    If you have tendonitis, then performing the stretches will likely cause some discomfort, either in the tendon itself, or the connecting muscle. Only you can decide whether it's a pain you can work through, or a pain that's telling you to stop doing the stretches. If it's the former type of pain, you can ease into the stretch, and gradually increase the stretch over a few minutes as the muscle starts to relax. If it hurts too much, just ease off a little. Self massage is also very beneficial in treating tendonitis. Massaging the tense muscle will encourage it to relax, and reduce the amount it's pulling on the tendon.

    How can you not tell the difference of an injury and a workout ? Go workout a muscle thats uninjured and understand the feeling now go workout the injured part . If it does not feel the same something is wrong.... this is pathetic you cant tell. Have you never worked out before in your life?

    @@jungyo8417 everything about this comment is pure ignorance. You have absolutely no clue what I've been through the past year with this "injury", and there's nothing more pathetic than calling someone with a medical condition pathetic for not having the same sensations as you. When you have neuroplastic pain your brain becomes hyper aware to every sensation, blurring the line from safe pain to dangerous pain.

    @@jefor4542 yes! Most people that have pain for more than 3 months are suffering from neuroplastic pain rather than an actual injury at this point, which is a semi-common fully treatable "rewiring" of your pain system from a mixture of fear and a few other factors. I was lucky enough to stumble across a physical therapy location that knew this, but I recommend reading or listening to "The Way Out" by Alan Gordon. May seem a bit overwhelming at first, but oh my god was the information liberating. I'm going out to walk again, play video games, open lids! I feel like I'd be near 100% if I was consistent with the mental exercises lol.
