Thank you so much for this video!!! I've been struggling with my bettas fin rot for AGES! Fred is finally on the mend, I never thought I would see the regrowth of his fins 💖💖💖
No one minds seeing a cute little Elsa ear!! That's part of why we watch your channel is to see all the lucky animals that get to be in your care!! Just this past weekend I set up a 3.5 Gal (13.25ish liter?) tank I had laying around to house some excess neocaridina I had in a colony that is experiencing tremendous growth. I of course used live plants and filter media from an established tank, but I was worried that the dozen or so little shrimp I put in there wouldn't have enough bioload to keep the tank cycled. I went to the local fish store to pick up some poopers.. 3.5 gal limits me so I was going to get either a few ottocinlus or pygmy cories if they had them. Before I could even look for those I had to walk past a whole wall full of crown tail bettas. They had so many they priced them to sell quickly. It was really too good of a price to pass up. After seeing all the pictures you've been posting lately and knowing you can't ship to America I had to get one! I found a really cool looking one too. I've been trying all night to get a good picture for the facebook group. I don't know how you manage to get such amazing pictures. It's always a concern when you put a new beta in a tank with any other living thing, especially tiny little tasty looking shrimp. I saw him stare one of the shrimp down tonight but he just wanted to take a food flake away from her. The tank has a large amount of plants including a Bunch of subwassertang for the shrimp to duck into so finger's crossed.
New Betta owner here - my Betta was in a bad way before we even got him home - raggedy fins. Tried salt tonight - wish me luck.
Thanks for the video! I’m getting my first beta soon! 😍
this is exactly what i needed thank you!

Did it cure?
Thank you so much for you videos. Very informative and you are fun to watch. I live in a very small town, and so there isnt much on the variety of betta fish I can get. Do you have a place you recommend ordering them from?
The ears are cute so it's fine 😂😂 I thought it was bunny ears at first. And thanks I needed this vid because my crown tail has a lil bit 🤦♀️

Thank you so much!!
I’ve been treating my betta with aquarium salt for more than 3 months and I stoped and put him back in his 5.5 Gal tank and now it’s started healing which I’m so happy now! I’ve been using a conditioner that has almond leaf extract in it too! I would totally recommend finding a conditioner with almond extract!
Nice topic, btw your smile are so beautiful.. Thank you for share this information..
I didn't use Indian Almond leaves with my first Betta and I so wish I had now. Griffin loves his leaves and I also do the jar method of soaking them in boiling water, we've had no problems with his health so far.
Thank you I thought my fish had fin rot but the water quality is fine and I changed his tank because he always slept by the filter and I had very rough edges on my plastic plants so I changed the tank and filter and got silk plants and live plants he now has healed quite a bit and this video definitely helped a lot!😌
Lol I’m the one that’s been DMing you so often for fin rot recently and I’m so grateful for you making this video 😭😭💕 love you sis! She is amazing guys

Gracii's Bettas my betta has been in the MB for 2 weeks now, do you think that’s sufficient and can I put him back in his tank and hopefully see regrowth after?
I know I reached out to you the other week! How often do you do the baths?
I have some dried almond leaves but I've had them for a few years. Do you think that they're still good?
Thanks for your videos :) My betta had a (practically) missing left fin when I got him. Might try a bit of salt as a fix
how often do you recommend adding in the salt? with every water change?!
Aww my fish is in this video! Im going to try the method you have used! I wanted to ask a question, what shelves do you use? I'm thinking about breeding and I wanted something that could hold a tank like that!
It’s been a week since I’ve tried this method with the methylene blue and salt water in a 5 gallon bucket with a sponge filter , heater and idk if his fin rot is getting worse becuase most of his fins have turned into a cleared white weird texture and he used to be mostly red and currently he is red and white .. it looks like he’s starting to catch the colors agian on his fins but I just want to make sure .. do you think his fins are regrowing or getting worse?? First time having a betta
Very informative, love lots from 🇵🇭Philippines 😘
Hello Gracii, so basically i have to change my water more frequently and how can I tell if it's fin rot or just fin damage.
My betta is REALY strugging, he had minnor finnrot for awhile, with the jagged edges. We tried so many thins but none worked, so we thought it was just the filter. But then his finns started turning yelliw and black and it is now spreading to his finns and his body. He is resisting food and sitting at the bottom at his tank. Its realy bad, thankyou for this information, it realy helped.🙂
You can also use alder cones and oak leaves for tannins.
Tysm this is so helpful and simple to cure my comet, do you still recommend the salt bathes?

Yes, salt works wonders!! I also add a teaspoon during water changes to the tanks
How much methylene blue should I put in his jar?
Am buying a two 10 gallons of tanks I had the in a state of no current of flow I’ll be switching the water until I get them thanks 🙏
i wish you left a link for the leaves you got. i want to get them cheaper too ):
I think your hair looks great still with the dark roots.
I had an algae problem in my tank and noticed my Jetta fin started to rot, I took him out and placed him in a 1 gallon jar with some of the API bacterial medicine and that isn’t working. Going to order the almond leaves and try it for 2 weeks in a his jar to see if it works. Don’t worry guys.. his actual ranks size is 8 gallons (: he’s just in the 1 gallon till he heals
I’s there a website where you get the Indian almond leafs

Heyy! Hope he's doing a bit better now! If not salt and Methelyne blue will kill any kind of fungal infection he's got going on. I treat fungal infections very similarly to fin rot

@@mageochagainbrochtuarach1176 you can normal salt just for bath. I used cooking salt while in lockdown it fixed it.
Lmao Elsa is so cute. i laughed when you said you'd take her out later and had to correct her about it not being " now " I have to do that with lotus all the time, if i say 'Chris is coming' ( my bf ) she gets SO excited and i have to tell her he's coming later or won't be here for a bit. xD Recently " uncomfortable " has been a trigger word for her and i can't figure out why???? like that doesn't sound like any other word or phrase she knows and i'm so confused. its hilarious but what does that even mean to her??? there is no reason why she should be responding to that. she doesn't react to " comfortable " only " uncomfortable " I'm not really sure that stress /causes/ fin rot, but i definitely feel its a symptom that comes with fin rot due to what's causing the rot, like you said poor water quality for example. stress can for sure be a sign they could be getting rot tho! As for the salt i agree its really good for preventing illness in your fry, i don't drain the salted water from my bbs when feeding the babies, its really good for preventing velvet which is apparently really common for tiny betta fry. i wouldn't know tho, i haven't had an outbreak with my little ones and the salt is probably why. i try not to do it so their water levels are bouncing around a lot tho, too much salt and too dramatic of changes in water can be really harmful. Salt is really bad for snails and shrimp, but its not as bad for fish as it is for humans, it mixes in the water, its not like putting raw dry salt in your eye lmao. the salt you use in salt water aquariums is also different from what you use for freshwater aquariums. i could be wrong but i'm pretty sure its not the same and no where near the same amount used. if you setup a saltwater tank then tossed a betta in it would probably die pretty quick, but its not the same and i don't think people understand that the amount effects them differently :/ If i'm adding salt when i'm not doing a water change, i just drop it in the filter so it dissolves before it gets into the tank so it doesn't burn any of the fish by landing on them.

As soon as she hears "go", "park" or "walk" she gets so excited 😂 i forget there's certain words i cant say infront of her without causing her immense disappointment 😂😂 There are sooo many anti salt people in the fresh water community and i get it because it does sound weird but when you actually research the benefits and get the dose right it's so effective! Salt is amazing ❤️

So strange how Lotus reacts so such a random word 😂😂 theyre so clever yet dumb 😂
@StarlightBettas

@@GraciisBettas yeah its the same for lotus, or if you say a word that sounds similar to one, you have to repeat it clearly so she can tell its a different word then she's like " darn. " so for uncomfortable, i got nothin its a complete mystery xD and yeah totally, the dose is important, like it CAN be bad, but it CAN be good too if done right. i don't add it all the time to my other fish, but i do every so often especially if its an over crowded tank to help prevent fungal or bacterial infections
