Hello! You are my first Crochet Teacher. Your easy easy of teaching inspired me to lean crochet. I am trying this design roght now. I made 10 + 8 chains. But at the end of the row I am left with only three chains to work into. Am I missing some information? I also felt like you skipped one chain after first 4 DC ch1 set. I am very confused. Makes it look more like a real basket weave with a smidgen of space in between. Traditional way of doing it with no chain 1 is a bit too tight together (just in my opinion, of course).

You would use the hook size that is listed on your yarn label. If you have a worsted weight yarn that the label recommends using a size H, you would use the size H hook.

hi...i love this stitch!... but i am wondering when you make your foundation row you say make 4 double crochets chain one and make 4 DC in the 4 stitches, my question is are you skipping a stitch after you chain 1 in the foundation row? thanks for you help!

It looks like she does. I was wondering the same thing and after watching a couple times it looks like she does skip one when she starts double crocheting the next four.

I was wondering the same. Looks like there us a skipped. I undid my original one to do it this way so it doesn't bunch up. This makes sense.

Most definitely. A lot of the posh magazines show mens scarves using a basket weave texture.
