What you have to keep in mind is that 100oz weighed has what's called a "specific gravity" depending upon the material. So to be a lot more accurate, you need to know, for example, how much would 100oz of oil weigh in cubic inches. It will be different for water, avocado oil, shea butter, etc. That way you could calculate based on the volume of your mold how much of each ingredient when combined will be required to fill the mold. Another way to look at it is that if you measure 100oz of water it probably will take up less volume than 100oz of oil.
Very informative, would love to make my own soaps but not sure how to measure oil batch size for soapcalc? Thanks
Thank you for this informative video. One question, please. Can you always substitute aloe vera juice for distilled water for lye solution?
I wanted to understand, How accurate is this calculator and do you use often on your recipes? How do they come out?
This math is just soooo confusing for me!
I’m trying to make my own recipe but the lye amount seems weird for me on the website. So I tried to input your recipe weights to that website and it doesn’t appear to have the same weight in lye either.
What if herbs are included
Do you make your own dishwasher soap by chance?
