One of the biggest advantages is that it's an economical way to go. Wood costs allot less than aluminum. So if you are doing a full jon boat to bass boat conversion or simply wanting to upgrade your boat decking, this is the video you want to watch. Enjoy the video!!!

I hope I am not just speaking for myself..... I would love to see more of the details to the decking. Your attention to detail on all your boat mods is absolutely amazing. The content on this channel is number one!!! Thanks for your time and effort in puting out the content. I am excited to see the finished product. Hopefully when you sell it there might be a video of the person taking it out and fishing from it. Thanks again BBFDMV. Tight Lines!!!

What type of plywood did you use? I know a lot a guys opt for exterior grade plywood and then resin it but i can't seem to find any that's not pressure treated. I know pressure treated wood will eat the aluminum away but if i resin it i don't think it would cause any problems?

I totally understand why you used wood. I started a project a year ago and had most of the boat framed and sheeted with aluminum. I had no idea what my plans where for the rear of the boat till I purchased a new motor with jack plate. Decided to make a rear deck and had enough aluminum framing to do so. Went to purchase a 4x8 sheet of aluminum and was blown away with the price. I bought a 4x8x1/2" thick sheet of finished plywood for 50 bucks. Tbh I really like the wood for sheeting! Anyways keep up the good work!

Do you use regular stainless steel self tapping screws to attach the wood? If so how long do they hold for i know steel and aluminum don't mix well
