How to Create Abstract Art Using Watercolors & Mixed Media | Intuitive Neurographic Art

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

When the going gets tough, the tough get creating neurographic art. Haha! Yeah, that's me, just working through some of the stress of yet another move. And actually, I must say, I'm doing pretty well. Neurographic art helps! Creativity as a whole helps! It's good to remember however that the creative process is also not always without its challenges and in this week's video, I'm working through a big challenge... Will I succeed?

Oh how I agree! ❤️ It’s fun to let go of the « shoulds » and just embrace whatever shows up. There’s way more fun to be had this way and so much more openness to learning. ☺️ Thank you for your kindness 🤗💕

Enjoyed the process, the contrast of light background to the vibrant purple, green and then the neurolines connecting the circles. The pop of gold and green gold and the simple vertical lines brings all of it together. 💛

Quite a 70’s retro feel to this piece! I like the way the individual circles became part of a fluid whole. It is so relaxing to accompany you on your painting journey and hear you chuckle at the challenges you perceive….reminds me of Bob Ross and his ‘happy little accidents’! I wish you well with your house move and hope that you will be very happy in your new home. Have a beautiful week! Xx B 💫

Hi Bernice ❤️🤗 I’m so glad you enjoyed this process despite (and maybe because 😂) the challenges I faced in this process. I am SO tired 😴 I feel as though I am running on fumes. But, the move is going well so far 🙏✨❤️ Every day, Damien, Garou and I bring car loads to the new house and we have been able to start getting organized. The movers will be here to move the big and heavy stuff this weekend. One day at a time has been my modo and one one day seems like too much to handle, I break it down into even smaller chunks. What a help this has been! Thank you for always being so kind, caring and supportive 💕🤗

Thank you so much Gabrielle, I really really enjoyed watching you create this Incredibly Beautiful and Inspiring painting, and I totally agree the magic green didn’t sit well with me either, the Crystal white was more cohesive with the whole painting. Please stay safe and well too xxxx Mags ❤❤❤❤

Girlfriend you amaze me! You had several detours along the way, and I was a little concerned, but once again you figured out exactly what to do to make it all come together! 😍 Adding the gold and the magic green made a huge difference! You were cracking me up the whole time, you sounded a little punch happy! 😉😂 Hopefully you're old enough to know what that means! It sounds like you're in the homestretch of your move, yay!! Be kind to yourself, take deep breaths, and enjoy the process! You get to start over again, and set things up the way you want to! I hope it's the last time you have to move!! Have a good week friend, and know I'm thinking about you and praying for a smooth transition! Love and hugs! 🤗💖

Hi!!! ❤️🤗 Hehehe! I'm a little punch happy every day these days 😉 I just posted my video for tomorrow. I might have snorted while laughing during this one 🤣 There's something about being tired that gets me there (especially if I don't let the mountain of boxed in my house overwhelm me first 😂). We are at our new house! There have been a few hiccups to deal with, but nothing we can't handle and we are overall so happy to be there and finally have all our stuff with us. My studio is far from ready from I'm chipping away at it every chance I get. Did I tell you we had a chance to see a family of 5 deer munching on the clover in our new yard last week 🥰 (Garou didn't notice them - my poor little guys eye sight is changing as he gets older. But this means the deer got to munch in peace and we had peace and quiet to enjoy them too. ☺️ I'm so happy you enjoyed watching this process and reading your comment I very much felt you giggling with me ❤️ Thank you for being here with me Lori 💕 I'm so lucky we get to connect this way! Sending lots of love and well wishes your way sweet friend ❤️🤗

Yikes! I have seen people use the dish soap to protect their brushes from the masking fluid. Not one used their good brush to do it. You are the first. As I watched I hoped nothing bad would happen to your good brush. All is well that ends well. I'm happy nothing bad happened to your brush.

You can also use a rubber cement pickup square to remove the masking fluid.

You could go back and try a wash of the purple over the black. You would need to dilute the purple quite a bit and do a damp on dry technique. Plus wash the black off your brush often.

Hehe! Great minds think alike as they say! ☺️ I could do that for sure and at the same time, I think I’d like to leave it as is and include it in my idea journal. It’s filled with good ideas and also some of my more questionable ideas 😂

It always works better if you mix the same colors that you used in the background to make the greens, oranges, and purples. I when i started painting, I learned the hard way just as the same as you did. I used a green I liked from my palette. I was confused and disappointed. Now I use 3 colors from my palette. Then, mix everything else from those colors. It turns out that even when I take out 4 or 5 colors I don't use them all. Usually, I swatch them to make sure they will all work together well. In the end, I don't use them. I usually buy colors that are made with only one pigment, so my colors don't get muddy when I mix them. I continue to be surprised at how few colors I actually use even though I plan to use more colors. Right now I'm working with other media including pen and ink. When I finish does projects I'll come back to painting and I'll see want happens.

Yes, this is very true 😉 It’s like I knew this but still wanted to test my luck 😂 I could have glazed the painting background with a bit of purple and the green, but I was feeling amused and thought it would be fun to tackle the challenge. I still giggle when I think of this painting and the process as a whole. ☺️
