Thanks so much! I use a cut pool noodle and place the macadamia nut inside and then use a hammer. Works really well and contains the nut.

Vice grips are very adjustable and versatile. I like the long-nose ones best for nut cracking. They work great. Harbor Freight has the best prices I've seen on these. = My favorite nut cracking tool.

The elementary school I went to was right next to some houses and one house had a pecan tree that was over the fence, and it’d drop some pecans on the school’s sides and a lot of students would go to the tree to enjoy some pecans every here and then during recess. Good memories, and love pecans

We use a cork screw to make a hole to get the coconut water out. We also use a vice that's attached to my dad's work bench to crack macadamia

Another way I do pecans is that I take the most curved sides and use the household nutcrackers and crack them along the curved sides. When done gently enough you can get a nice long crack along the sides then you can go along the middle or end of them and go in a circle cracking it gently. I have been able to get so many pecan halves out without ruining them

As a person who live in tropical region, I can vouch that nobody chew the young coconut fibers like she did.

Pecans remind me of my great grandma and great grandpa they always had a bucket of pecans In their entryway that me and my siblings would take some from and open them with our shoes and Munch on them. I miss them

this is what i needed on a saturday night

My late father had a party trick where he could crack a brazil nut with his bare hands. He would put the nut on a wooden chopping board (less slippery and protects the table) and bear in mind brazil nut shells are triangular, so there's a hard ridge pointing up. He'd then use the heel of his hand to slam down on the nut and crack it open, often in one go. That man had the broadest, most calloused hands I've ever seen. And if you were wondering, yes, he looked like a Viking.

Vice grips allow for fine adjustment, which enables you to go just far enough to crack the shell without going to far and fracturing the nut meat.

When I was little, my family would buy assorted nuts for Christmas or Easter. The holiday pass time was watching the kids figuring out random ways to open a nut without a nutcracker. My hands are hard as rocks now as an adult, and I believe that's why.

to scrape the soft meat of the coconut...dry up the shell...use it to polish our floors(old-school style), use it as a pot for flowers especially like orchids and as an alternative coal

Honestly that was one of the worst ways i've seen how to open a coconut. Its not even that hard to open them and u definitely do not need a hammer. Also the young coconut was a bit too young and there wasnt any coconut meat in it. She was calling the coconut shell and husk part as meat🤦‍♀️

At my home we actually have an almond tree and when we want to Crack the almonds we get two rocks a smooth one and a sharp or rough one, then we put the almond on the smooth one holding one end and then hitting it with the other one, and that's how to crack an almond😁 (same with walnuts) And we sometimes eat it when it's green or not dry yet, if you tasted a green almonds with dipping it in salt you should know how good it is😋 I just wanted to say this , even if you care or not 🙃
