How To Crack a Coconut

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Usually, if a recipe calls for coconut we simply go to the pantry and pull out a bag of shredded coconut. Pretty easy, huh? But if you've got fresh coconut on hand, and you know how to open a coconut you can always substitute with freshly shredded or grated coconut.

HOLY CRAP! Firstly, thank you for a super easy and fast way to open a coconut. I just opened my first coconut and tasted the white. So good. Secondly, I went to get the peeler and then I heard you say "eat it with the skin on" so I thought eh, might as well give it a nibble... Well sh#t a brick and build a house!!!! I'm OBSESSED! I CAN'T GET ENOUGH!!! The thin brown skin gives the coconut a nutty taste which is absolutely DEVINE! Thank you!

Mr. Food Test Kitchen Thank you. I have been really enjoying getting into eating healthier. About 2 Years ago I stopped drinking Cows Milk and I have to admit, my body like the change. I've been buying Organic Coconut Milk but as you know, it can get pricey. So, I decided to buy the raw Coconut and make my own healthier version with only 3 ingredients and it taste incredible. However, cracking the Coconut took the enthusiasm right out of the process. I haven't made it since lol. Until I stumble over your Video. You made it so plain and simple, I felt not so bright (again, smiling). The truth is, it worked and I'm happy. No more pricey Coconut Milk with all the additives for me. Thank you Again.

Thanks for this, my kids were spellbound and are now eating fresh coconut as their treat. no more prepacked stuff for me! :) FYI if (like me) your hammer blows were having little effect, try puncturing the shell with the same screwdriver used for the eyes, a couple of blows should do it till you have a few around the circumference of the coconut. then a few swift blows from the hammer to the shell should crack it in a trice!
