I fell in love with Japanese food when I discovered bento type lunches after searching for healthy lunch ideas for my children. My kids were very lucky to enjoy them through school years. Now I cook Japanese meals for myself and my husband.
Just discovered your channel. The side dishes were so tempting that I made all 3 of them today as I had all the ingredients. Super yummy eaten with plain white rice. Thanks for sharing and I'm looking forward to more recipes. Your instructions are very simple and explanations so clear that even a novice like me got it right.

Love your channel! Spent 3.5 years working in a classy Japanese restaurant in CA in the 80’s. We ate Japanese potato and carrot curry everyday I believe for our employee meal-I never got tired of it! I also learned to love sashimi and sushi there as well as sake! I remember the Chawanmushi-steamed savory egg custard in small ceramic dishes with lid. Since I’m vegan now I’ll look for a vegan recipe. I remember eating the sunomono-cucumber and seaweed salad as a side. Ty for your recipes/content! ❤️
Greatly appreciate the 3 easy side dishes. I usually do Gomae as my typical side, but these are simple and I have pretty much most of the ingredients on hand. Thank you from Chicago.

I love to cook different stuff from around the world. Some people kinda specialize to recipes from a certain region. I'm way to picky to determine on a single one. I can say that there is a lot of stuff from japan under my favorites in comparison to some other countries. But also a lot of german, french, czech, russian, turkish, iranian, indian, korean and african food is up on that list. Sadly i don't have money to travel a lot, but someday i wanna visit all the places i haven't seen yet including japan

Thanks for sharing, love Japanese foods. light and gentle taste also less oily. The cultures can be quite different sometimes. Western people are more prefer eating without making a sound, eating food quietly like a bird, only the sound of the knife and fork scraping the plate can be heard, but eastern asian (China, Korea and Japan) prefer to make a loud chewing sound, which means the food is yummy.
Thank you for the vid.. Will try the cabbage mix
My husband usually doesn’t like green beans. Thanks to your recipe he finished them!! Definitely coming back for more!

It's so easy and satisfying to toast them yourself... I would say I'd prefer to buy them not toasted and to toast them! But it's a shame how hard it is to source toasted sesame oil relative to regular sesame oil (I'm in the UK).
