Achu is a unique dish akin to the people of the Grass-fields of
Cameroon(North West and West Regions). It is a highly respected
traditional delicacy that is mostly served on occasions or cultural
gatherings of kindreds. The Achu delicacy is that one dish that will get
finished first on any occasion before any other dish.
Achu is being made from pounded cocoyams, and it's served with Yellow
soup(made from limestone, palm oil, and other ingredients), and accompanied by meat, cow skin(commonly called Kanda), vegetable, and puddings. It is a dish that is so rich in all the vital nutrients, a complete balanced diet.
Achu to a Bamenda man is the same as Pizza is to an Italian, or Shepherds Pie to an English man.
Today, the dish is not only being eaten by the North Westerners, but has
become a delicacy that is enjoyed by all Cameroonians, and the world at
large.
Follow us as we show you the processes involved in the preparation of the
Achu delicacy, and good appetite if you decide to try this at home.

Yeah, cooking to me is an art. There are no limits to it but our imagination. The baked Egussi was yummy, trust me, if you taste it, you won't want the wet version. Thanks for watching.

One comment (to help those in 'the abroad'), please specify what type of cocoyam you use. There are mainly 2 types found in NA - eddoes and taro. Eddoes are smaller and Taro s are larger. It is possible that what is used for achu is the 'eddoes' and what is used for 'ekwang' is the 'taro' (based on other videos I've seen). I could be wrong, so please correct me!
