Put the wire in first.. then push the copper hard end in.. much easier folks :)

Love this as I want to build a plasma cnc. Only question would be, with it beeing this easy to do, why don’t the manufacturers set them up like this? There must be some disadvantage or safety issues. I know the connection should switch after ignition, and keeping it permanent lowers power a little but not overly concerned about that, as i’ve no need to cut 10-12mm plate.

The pilot version of this unit is only $10 more so I'd go that route.

great video Dave, don't know how many times i can enter the giveaway but i would still like the Plasma

If you understand electric side than you would know this way reduce power of the plasma. The correct way it is to disconnect the pilot circuit after the main current start. Try cut some thick metal with your improvement...

I understand but the draw is so little it really didn't affect the usage. I ran 1/2" afterwards and it cuts just fine. Thanks for the heads up!!

There is a little ignitor in there from what I can see but I suppose you are correct.

Plasma cutter would be nice to have if they weren't so expensive

Is the connector big enough to slide over the button on the "grounding" lug? If so, why not just put the connector over the button on the ground cable plug it back in and you've basically done the same thing with zero tools needed.😊

Yes but the Arccaptain has a push on switch connector not a screw on so you just need to swap that over.

Why I don’t just buy the right machine with the right torch??

It was supplied by the manufacturer. They sent a lift arc so we did a budget shootout with other brands.
