    Very interesting Lino, I have my wizard setup complete with Seba SX 2 boot, (NR100 frame), and Intuition liner, and while I love this setup, I do love my fr1's also!! Another thing, I hate the velcro mid strap on the CJ/ SX, it just doesn't tighten like the fr1's "micrometric" ratchet strap does. So for me this looks great and I'd like to try it. Ideally, I'd have the new FR1 boot with Intuition liner in a smaller size. Also, it makes total sense that slides are easier when your heel sits lower, so I'm gonna try ditch the heel pads on my Intuitions in the SX boot for now, see how that feels. Cool video! They should make this adapter in black, or different color options to suit your frame, will look much better then.

    Awesome video! Thuroshop has a 3D printed one that is available right now. There are also .stl files floating around somewhere if you know how to search. Oysi's adapter should be metal tho, and should also be coming out with the OY3X sometime.

    If you have a old pair of razors cults from before the UFS adapters were integrated into the soul plates you can use them in the same way. I used some from a pair of shima 3's to make a pair of SEBA FRX80 skates UFS with USD carbon soul plates.

    Ohh the micros look great! Wish i could try em locally. They seem like a GREAT option!! I just bought FR1's for my super wide feet. Maybe i'll look into that adapter to switch from the 3x110 to a more "aggressive" one when i feel like it ^^. maybe one with a little slot for slides!

    Do you know if these adapters will work with Seba skates that have the large frame bolts? I wouldn't be able to use the bolts I have because they are too short, so I'd need bolts from oysi. I didn't see any info about the adapter on the website..

    I don't know what length you need but I recommend just getting some M6 X 14/20/30mm bolts cheap. I got loads years ago and they've come in handy over the years. It's amazing how often I need to use my own cuz none are supplied.

    I believe there is. Check out the Sway/Zoom, they're the same boot but the freeskate version (Zoom) has a trinity adapter where the soul plates would be in the Sway. I'm not sure if they sell the adapter individually though.

    @@edwardtaylor5207 As I see here: www.oysius.com/oy3x-introduction/ the longer bolts are included. Will not trust on shorter bolts as spaces looks quite thick. Anyway this looks promising, a pair of soul plates +adaptor +agressive frame and you don't need additional pair or skates.

    @@cletuskuhn5776 what i don't quite understand is, in the case of this video the adapter is negotiating the heel raise of the boot only, not the length, which is negotiated by the elongated rear slot on the wizards themselves?

  • @cletuskuhn5776

    @cletuskuhn5776

    4 жыл бұрын

    @@nicolasdangelo3201 That's right, but both the adapter and the frame need to have a slot to account for the horizontal alignment relative to the boot. The REC2UFS adapter allows you attach a UFS (167mm) mount frame to a REC (165mm) mount boot. The adapter accounts for the heel raise in a REC boot compared to the UFS system which is flat on the bottom of the boot or the bottom of the soul plate (for some aggressive boots, the soul plate accounts for the heel raise of the boot). Both the REC2UFS adapter and the OY3X Chassis specifically incorporate a particular slot length in one direction to allow the chassis to be mounted with the wheels centered about the REC boot. If this slot was not present then the wheels sit off center and shifted further towards the heel. This is because the distance from the frame mounting hole to the rear wheel is different for a REC mount frame vs UFS mount frames (the UFS system was designed to center the wheels about the mounting points). In Ricardo's case the Wizard frame already has a slight heel raise by design so when the Wizard frame is mounted to a flat bottom UFS boot it creates a slight heel raise (there is an angle between the top of the frame and the ground plane) to shift your weight forward to the ball of your foot, which is different from other UFS frames which normally do not have any heel raise (essentially the top of the frame is parallel to the ground plane). Since there is a little bit of a slot feature on the Wizard frame you can adjust the length slightly but not quite enough to get it completely centered about the rec boot. Again, the slot in the adapter is the same slot incorporated into the OY3X Chassis and it is a specific length to allow for a centered mounting when used on a REC 165mm boot. The Wizard frame has a slot as well but it's mostly to ensure clearance for the UFS fastener to align with the receptor in the boot in the case where everything isn't perfectly lined up, but it can also allow the frame to be positioned a bit more forward in this case. Also many REC boots use an aluminum plate on the bottom with 5 to 7 holes and these require a 5/16"-18 UNC thread fastener (not metric). The Wizard frame slot is designed for the standard UFS fastener which is M6-1.0 thread. The 5/16"-18 UNC fastener will not fit through the slot on the Wizard frame without modifying the slot. The OY3X and the REC2UFS adapter are designed to allow mounting using either fastener. (Ricardo's boot in this video uses the M6-1.00 Fastener.)

    @@cletuskuhn5776 thanks for you elaborated answer, as usual. i've been riding wizards for a couple of years, the slight tapering underneath a flat boot is perfect for me... i even do cone skating with the sx boot on 80mm wheels, but i was curious to understand what really are the compatibility problems between ufs and 165 - not so much length but just the heel raise is my conclusion, which i personally don't care about (the heel raise i mean. 2mm difference in length doesn't seem too much to me to create problems. when you talk about the problem of centering the frame you are only talking about 1mm difference aprox.? i would love that ufs had the thicker bolts, i'm not sure i understand why it doesn't happen... i don't love the idea of a supplement for attaching a frame to a boot, and i really dislike how it looks with wizards, i love how my sx boot sits evenly on the frames, and i believe it might add to how the skating feels to have total contact between frame and boot, again i might be wrong.
