@@jamesprigioni You should enroll Tuck in the Dog Aging Project. They do studies on dog healthspan and lifespan. Most of the participants are in an observational study to find out what lifestyle and environmental factors influence healthy aging. They also have a clinical trial on the effects of low dose rapamycin. It's interesting that the most common pastime of centenarians is gardening & a recent study found that gardening families have differences in their gut microbiomes compared to non-gardeners. It would be great to get more 'gardening dogs' in the DAP so more can be learned about the effects of gardening on health and lifespan.

I really love how James explains the mixing process; not taking some basic information for granted because not everyone always knows these things. Everyone starts somewhere, and having that information introduced in a positive way without being made to feel bad for not knowing in the first place is great to encourage those to keep learning more.

I use this same Neem mixture and it SAVED my garden. I have a slight variation though, I use 100% organic peppermint castile soap (Dr. Bonners) instead of dishwashing liquid. Castile soap is non toxic and I read that peppermint is also a deterrent for ants. We spend money and time on our gardens and it is frustrating to step outside and find vegetables destroyed. It is an everyday fight to keep our gardens pest free without harmful chemicals, thanks for the tips!

I like your channel because your zone is just barely warmer than mine (6b here). We went from a 100sqft garden plot to 900 sqft garden. It’s no food forest yet, but it is in the forecast! You also directed me to the B2E through that awesome documentary and the permaculture guys you reference in your episodes. Cedarcide (Western Red Cedar oil) is another great product, which I've been using for years to keep parasites off my dog, and also to kill mites - especially indoor grows. Mites are the bane of indoor cannabis farmers, but the non-thermal cedarcide fogger kills them in all the nooks and crannies. It can also be used to weatherproof wood, and I use it on my bare wood guitar necks, because it has a catalytic reaction that hardens the surface, protecting it. Thanks for the helpful video - your enthusiasm is contagious!

Ok. Can I just say, I have never seen a dog other than my lab eat raw whole veggies. Ares would be sooooo jealous of that terrier’s happy munching!!

I love the way you interact with your dog. My border terrier fo.lows me around when I'm in the garden inspecting everything I do and munching on lots of my plants; leaves of all gourds & cucurbits, borage, kale, zinnias, young broad beans & baby carrots. But I love him & make sure there's plenty for both of us😆

Thanks! I appreciate your informative videos. This year, I’m incorporating a few things you mentioned to try and keep pests at bay: * Neem oil (diluted w/ water and add dish soap) * BT (with some crushed non-coated asprin, for plant benefit)

TUCK'S pretty smart dog , he meticulously gnawed the end root off that carrot and and flicked it to the side and then worked that carrot over real well. great addition to your channel. Thank you for sharing your skills and knowledge.

Just found this video today! I use Bt for tomato hornworms and other caterpillars…it is great, and you’re correct, you have to use it a couple times. I watch for a full moon, then spray within a few days. I started using Diatomacious earth this year, it really helped with squash bugs and these horrible beetles that suck the life out of my tomatoes!

Another great video James. Thanks for more ideas. The white moths drive me nuts, broccoli and kholrobi got hit hard this year. TUCK, the little dog, with a BIG personality! I literally LOL when you went for the carrot, he immediately had a big smile on his face.
