Hey everyone, ever wondered how those pedestrian signal countdowns work? You see them at crossings every day, right? Today, we're going to break it down for you.
Inside those countdown signals is a electronic board from the manufacturer. We also have a traffic light controller with six channels, but we only need three for our project. This setup lets us handle up to six lights in the box.
The cool part is the electronic board learns stuff. It watches how long the hand signal flashes and figures out the longest time for the countdown. In our demo, we'll walk you through how it learns and show you the countdown happening for real.
We'll also check out the code we used for this. We'll explain the logic and what the code does. You'll see the device at work as we put the code into the Arduino board.
