Bro I have been trying to figure out how to do this for such a long time. I loved how hands on and intuitive GarageBand is on the iPad Pro and would love it if Logic Remote when controlling Logic had some more features like Garageband if that makes sense. This has solved so many wishes of mine when producing music. Thank you so much. Hope you are doing really well! 😊

question, how does audio out work if you want to use this method on your bed or couch. Can you plug headphones into the iPad and hear the audio, perhaps by selecting the iPad as your audio output in Logic Pro X? This seems like a good method to be able to use Logic casually around the house without the dangers of putting your MacBook into places where you might risk dropping it. Also, is it laggy? And is the Apple Pencil required? Or can you just use the screen with your fingers?

Does it have the score editor available as well?

Hi -- I'm a musician and I'm trying to decide between the 11 inch and 13 inch iPad Air 6. I mostly create video productions comprised of voice and acoustic guitar, but sometimes do projects that crank up to about 20 tracks, with submixes. I do like the more portable size of the 11", but am I likely to find the 11" a bit cramped for the more multi track projects?

When editing in your bed, .... how do you get audio? And how do you get the Logic menu bar on then Pad, on my iPad Pro 10.5 the menu bar of logic does nit show up. Only if I sync the monitors.

Take the laptop with you or Bluetooth.

Interesting approach with Sidecar, but Logic really isn’t optimized for an iPad….. yet.

Yeah just switch to the pencil tool in logic and you can draw in automation regardless, no real pencil needed.

I was thinking to buy a macbook , but I’m a traveler. So this is nice. I’m thinking about IPad Pro for everything (everything and production). Is it a good idea?

You will still need a MacBook nearby to use this sidecar feature. Otherwise, I love my iPad Pro for work while traveling.

I use it when I am recording myself singing and I need to punch in and out wirelessly from the mic. Same for acoustic guitars. I also use it on top of my modi keyboard to get a closer feel between the synth plugin and the physical keys. Finally, I use it for the multi touch interface while doing compression or EQ or any other funky effect without the plugin blocking my main arrange view. I rarely take the arrangement window into the iPad.

It’s so I can move my damn keyboard opposite my computer…or do vocals in certain spot in the room or a connected bathroom for ambient sounds while still punching in and out.

Im happy logic is now on ipad now. its about time yeah its on macbooks to but i dont want to be carrying a £2000 pound mac around with me. I rather carry a ipad with me instead!

If logic pro was on iPad you wouldn’t purchase a laptop or computer.It will never be on iPad fully

that's what I was thinking too. Until Apple does away completely with regular computers and goes to only huge touchscreens like over 19"+

Too Laggy and no multi-touch, need to purchase their pen not practical..

Yeah... Need a pencil? It seems Apple resists letting us have full reign over our devices. The fact that macbooks can't perform like a Surface Pro is ridiculous in 2022, despite all their excuses to not let it happen.

TL;DR Stand-alone. You can’t. It’s only available through sidecar. Which you already knew.

Logic Pro is coming to IPad but not for awhile. Spoke to a genius at Apple.

Completely misleading video that should be taken down or at least renamed. How about, 'Operate Logic Pro on your Mac using your iPad" as a MUCH better and title. Click bait for sure, pathetic.
