@@HairyJuan lmfao, that would've _TOTALLY_ been me too, if I hadn't started my Skyrim (and subsequently Elder Scrolls) journey on my old Xbox 360, before ever becoming aware of the wonders of PC modding. I put like 300 hours into the original vanilla game (and DLCs) before I found...... _an MxR video_ on KZread lol. At that point it was around 2014, meaning I was a teenage boy pretty much just ending middle school, and starting high school....I'm sure you can imagine how much seeing all of those mods captured my attention when I had NEVER seen mods before. Here's how committed I was to playing Skyrim with mods after all of those hundreds of vanilla Xbox 360 hours. I literally didn't even own a PC, certainly not a desktop PC (and still don't for that one lol), and the _only_ computer I had was an *old ass 2008 MacBook laptop* that [obviously] ran Mac OSX, not Windows, that I used for school and pretty much nothing else-it was mine though at that point, because we had the option of buying our class MacBooks that every kid in my ~40 person middle school grade (it was a private middle school lol, and a few of the kids' parents were filthy rich) already got to "rent" and take home for school. My parents bought mine out from the school at the discounted rate as a reward for my school performance and my birthday, so even though it was my school laptop, I was allowed to create my own personal user account to do what I pleased with. I started out by downloading Steam, and then I spent the next 3 weeks after school *vigorously* and _exclusively_ pursuing an answer as to just how the hell I could MAKE my MacBook, again *without Windows,* run the PC, non-Mac, _moddable version of Skyrim._ My 14 year old self simply WOULD NOT take "impossible" for an answer hahahaha. And after many many hours, and a lengthy series of failures, I finally stumbled upon something called _Bootcamp,_ which theoretically would have allowed me to _partition my hard drive_ (basically split it half Mac OSX and half Windows-or 1/3 and 2/3, whatever you wanted or needed), enabling me to boot up into either the regular Mac operating system, OR the newly enabled Windows side of my hard drive by holding down the left alt key upon start up. Problem was, you still needed a legitimate, unused copy of any Windows OS to actually install so you could run Windows on that old MacBook, as you would with upgrading to the Ultimate version of Windows 7 for example from Vista (just an example). That was a problem because, well, why would I just happen to have an unused copy of Windows [7 in my case] lying around lol? Sure you could always buy it, but unfortunately I was freaking 14 lmfao-ain't *NOBODY* got time (AKA the $$$) for dat. BUT then a stroke of luck hit me, as I found a set of install discs for Windows 7 amongst my dad's myriad computer stuff (he fixes computers and does stuff like that at one of the corporate buildings for FedEx), so I popped 'em in, and followed the process all the way through to the end of the installation.....until I found out I needed a license key for Windows 7.......which I didn't have. Yet, I was literally _so damn close_ to finally realizing my dream of starting to mod Skyrim, or at least getting to ATTEMPT to install it on the *prospective Windows side* of my MacBook using Bootcamp, under the Windows version of Steam, because remember, this laptop wasn't JUST a Mac, it was a freakin' _2008_ Mac, which was basically _a brick_ 🧱 compared to the newer MacBook Pro models on the market lol, so I genuinely had no clue if the game would even be able to START after installing it, assuming I did _everything perfectly_ while setting up Windows under Bootcamp as a total beginner with no help from anybody or anywhere but Google. But I had a prayer; I had a miniscule, albeit *non-zero amount* of hope that it would run, and that I could finally play Skyrim with the mods I had been hearing so damn about. _And that was enough._ I don't remember exactly how I did it, but I functionally _tricked Windows into continuing as if I had activated a valid license key_ for my Windows 7 install. And once you get in initially, they can't take it back from you lol. They'll definitely bug you with notifications, for sure, appearing everytime you started up the computer, informing you that you needed to activate a valid license key in order to unlock the full functionality of your Windows OS (by providing you a link to go *purchase a digital copy* from Microsoft-of course lol-can't fault 'em for _trying_ honestly hahaha 🤷😂), but for whatever functions I didn't have access to, I was never aware of what exactly I was missing out on, aside from Office (which I *already had on the Mac OS side* of my hard drive from school lol). OH, AND, get this. After several months (at least) of me going about my business and clicking out of their silly warnings *("I'M A GOD! HOW CAN YOU KILL A GOD?!" ~Dagoth Ur to the Nerevarine in Morrowind 😂😂😂),* and using my Windows 7 Bootcamp to _SUCCESSFULLY PLAY SKYRIM WITH_ *MODS GALORE* (yep, I was _100% successful,_ and my relentless drive to make it happen fully paid off *AND blew my mind in the process* 😎) on my trusty ol' 2008 MacBrick laptop, which I can actually *still boot up and run Skyrim LE on* today if I really wanted to, if you can believe that-anyway, _SEVERAL MONTHS LATER THEY FINALLY DROPPED THE HAMMER OF JUDGEMENT ON MY ILLEGITIMATE WINDOWS 7 ASS!_ They really made me *feel the pain* for not finding the money to buy a whole copy of Windows 7 as a young, obviously jobless teenage student. Y'know what those cruel bastards did to me, and my laptop? Just get a load of this comprehensive list of features taken away from me: ....ready? .................... *1.)* I could no longer have my own custom desktop wallpapers. I was only able to use a solid black background. No Skyrim wallpapers, no stereotypical Windows grassy hills wallpaper, no solid color blue background, _just, freaking, black._ Absolute monsters over there at Microsoft. I mean truly, these were some utterly horrific, and goddamn SADISTIC individuals. .....hahahahahahahahaha 😂😹😂🤣😂

@@mayoluck lol... I put in a rather extensive list of mods for my own playthrough and it bricked my install 2 or 3 times. I did get it working- mostly. My buddy played with the same mod list and bricked his install 2 times before deciding to quit. He later came back and got it working fully. It's a chore, that's for sure.

@tomtomsatnav1234 I can't count how many modding guides I've copied exactly to a T and it still not working. It's just a crazy hard to mod game.

Just to put this out there for anyone wondering... this is many hours of work and you need to read and fully understand every word of the instructions to get things to work right and not break the game. A lot of mods have their own installation videos. Don't get excited and think you will bang this right out and be up and playing. This is 10X harder/more tedious than modding Skyrim/Fallout 4... even Fallout NV. I would add a few mods, read instructions VERY carefully, and test the game every 3 mods or so... do it over the course of a few days ( I assume you don't have 16 hours a day off) and take breaks so you don't get tired and skip a step. Take it slow or pay for it later, I learned the hard way.

If you are used to modding Skyrim and Fallout 4, it is a lot more complicated. For Those games its just download with NMM, install, done. For Oblivion, many files have separate .esp and .bsa files, so you need to watch that. Also, many have .ini files you need to edit to make them work well rather than just having options. Everything needs to be just right... for example, Battlehorn Castle.esp needs to be loaded after a lot of other .esps that BOSS puts after it otherwise you have major terrain glitches. Like I said.... I suppose it is easy if you don't miss a single step, but all you need to do is miss 1 step and you will be crashing or not even able to load the game. I found it a lot rougher than Falout:NV, Skyrim, and Fallout 4.

You do if you want different settings? I increased damage for myself and the enemies to make combat faster, and I de-leveled the world because I hate the world leveling with you. Anyway, I didn't post to get into arguments - Oblivion is very fussy and this is more difficult than modding modern games, that is all there is to it. If you had no problems, great for you. My main point is you need to read the directions VERY closely and not skip any steps, and test the game every few mods to make sure it works.

Took me about 20 hours between finishing this guide and Bevilex's but holy hell was it worth it. Once I got the hang of it, they make downloading the mods and bringing them in so insanely easy. Thanks for taking the time to put this all together. These mods were insane.

Sour little milk drinkers. It does look amazing, and almost renders Skyblivion a bit redundant. It would be nice to have the game look like this without so many hours spent with modding and setup though, and I guess Skyblivion will be a bit different.

I installed the game last night and learned how to use all the mod managers and everything and it only took me 3 hours to download literally every mod in this list and have it work perfectly. The only thing you have to clearly read is the Bevilex (idk if that's spelled right?) and make sure a few settings are setup the same but other than that its a very easy process.

One of the best games ever made, and thanks mods, can still playing it forever.

Awesome man, that's gonna save people a lot of time and frustration. I never modded in my life before and I'll be honest, it took me about a full week of trial and error untill I had the whole Wryebash / TESMM / BOSS thing down and found a modlist that manages to run the game crashing only once every 3 hours or so, always on loading screens lol. My poor old laptop doesn't really do too well with graphic mods and after installing Oblivion reloaded which dropped my frame rate to about 10 there's no way to deinstall easily so that was a start over. Martigen's Monster mod crashes my game at startup however I run the installation, I tried like 6 different ways, BSA's and ESP's, wont work. Don't like the Better Cities / Open cities reborn / Unique landscapes mods? Or is it because they tend to make the game crash :) Do you think they could be compatible with your list? How is the levelling system in your modlist? Does it include having to do tedious efficient leveling or is it more the realistic leveling kind of way. Would it be compatible with other leveling mods? Yes, yes, I will join your discord. Thanks :)

The grass density is nice. What is the iMinGrassSize? Edit: You can find the ini file at the guide website in the description, click the zipper at the top left next to 'About'. ---sadly no oblivion.ini.

Must be the 6th or 7th time I've installed oblivion and started modding only to give up. I didn't even make it through the other guys graphics mods never mind your mod list. There is just too many steps to play a game. Love the channel, just venting, not actually mad at you mate :P

Hi finished the list, used BOSS to organize and then made the bashed patch. So I'm having a problem, in the sewers intro everytime the blades get ambushed IF they take a hit they ignore their future dialog and start healing themselves with self healing spells THEN the game crashes to desktop. I used the console to kill the enemies and captain renault, then they proceeded as normal. But when I met up with them again later in the sewers where they get ambushed again the same thing happened they got hit and stopped their dialog started to heal and not progress then crash. I'm sure this is one of the AI mods from bevilex or this list but if you've seen or heard of this problem before I would deff appreciate some insight on how to fix it. My fear is that every scripted quest will require me to console kill enemies before allies get hit to progress and that would be unplayable. Thanks for the list and for any help.

Oh, I forgot to say that none of those mods I have found dirty had any note or comment from their developers that were talking about INTENTIONAL dirty edits. Just to be on the safe side I checked my list of mods with those you say in your guide that contain intentional dirty edits and none of them is in my mods list. Stay so well.

Hey, so I'm having trouble messing with my HDR settings I was wondering if you had a preference I could try because the focus blur it causes is making archery kindof weird.

Great video. Too bad they took Oblivion Reloaded 6.5 down. Spent 2 days trying to get 7.0 to work, but always crashes on load.

its a really good mod list but i would add the quest mods with caution some of them conflict with one another plus there are a number that require patches which this guide doesn't mention

I bought premium had it all downloaded and installed in 3 hours. Well worth the 4 bucks.

Can you share your installers and mod list from wrye bash? When you used Bevilex's Guide, did you stop at 'More Mods?' What's your take on Unique Landscapes and Roads of Cyrodiil?

What is the mod that's showcased in your b-roll clips, that make the swamps look more realistic, with bigger ferns and etc.?

Thanks for sharing your setup for Oblivian! I have owned the game for years and never played it. Always been meant to. Now I am going to start modding Oblivian!

hey pal, how about a step by step installation video, where everyone can see what you are doing with your mouse and copy youre actions exactly for a stable modded oblivion... it would be nice for such noobs like me.. ..no matter what im trying.. it´s always full of conflicts.. (yes i read the descriptions carefully)

The Mod Organizer 2 team is working on support for Oblivion currently. I know some people on the Morroblivion community that are helping them. Apparently the GOG version is already working but they are working in getting the Steam version to work as well.

No. There is a problem with how OBSE is handled. OBSE was made a long time ago and it's implementation is not as refined as NVSE, SKSE or F4SE. What people used to do was installing OBSE plug-ins manually but that kinda defeats the purpose of using MO in the first place. With the current developments MO2 might become the best option, although i'm not sure if it can fully handle Bain Wizards.

Don't forget to install the unofficial patches, alt tab fix and stutter remover

Hi! how about martigen monster mod, or francesco leveled creatures? don't you like these big mods?

Which Tree mod did you pick from Bevilex's list? You can choose from Arboretum, Tree Overhaul, or Lush and Gaudy Floriana Gloria, but I wasn't sure which one you went with. I only ask cause your trees are amazing and I really want to pick the same.

Hey, I have a question about making a bashed patch in Wrye Bash. Once I have downloaded every mod that I want, Do I just right-click on the bashed patch, then go to 'Rebuild Patch', then on the next screen, select 'Build Patch? Am I supposed to leave everything checked on the left side of the panel as it is? Your help would be appreciated.

What mods would you recommend for first ever playthrough? :) I want to experience the canon game; but want it to look a lil nicer, maybe balancing the mechanics, maybe some extra content that doesn't infringe too much on the original quests/story. Thoughts? (If everything here is what you'd recommend, I'd try it)

Do you still use AV Uncapper Settings or do you use the newer AV Uncapper Settings - Fixed?

i was just reading your Oblivion Ultimate Modding Guide and I got to the end where you mentioned Better Cities. I was wondering can I use Unique Landscapes mod and Martigen's Monster Mod in your guide?

hey sinitar, just watched this video, great stuff man, thx for the hard work, only i have 1 problem, after i install all the mods and follow all your steps, my obse tells me that i have an unkown version of the game, but before i modded it it worked perfectly with obse, can you please help me fix this?

I keep getting an error "Maskars Oblivion Overhaul ini is out of date", is there an updated ini I can find somewhere?

Vortex is broken mod manager filled with bugs and it will eventually break your game. NEVER use Vortex for modding complex games like TES or FO. Moreover, for Oblivion, use ONLY Wrye Bash to install mods. Nothing else.
