How to Clean Your Toaster Inside Perfectly

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Here's an easy step-by-step tutorial to give your toaster a deep cleaning. A few cleaning tricks will help you deal with the accumulated dirt inside and even get to the crumbs stuck to the toaster bottom. I admit I've been putting off cleaning mine for more than a year, but now it's looking almost brand new again.
✔️ For cleaning my toaster, I used: a kitchen cloth, an old toothbrush, a cleaning brush, masking tape, a beverage straw, a chopstick, a dishwashing sponge, a rubber band, cotton swabs, a kitchen cleaner, ethyl alcohol, crevice attachment for a vacuum.

    Finally a video thats more than “I was today years old when i found out there was a removable crumb tray”. THANK YOU for tips to actually clean the stuck crumbs and seeds that missed the tray and won’t shake out

    Problems I have run into when cleaning the inside of toaster is that the heating elements start breaking or get dislodged after a few cleanings.

    Beware when using the straw on the vacuum attachment, as this could cause your motor to burn out as it is working harder to get suction through a smaller tube. This happened to me, my vacuum overheated and turned itself off but luckily I was able to get it working again after waiting a spell.

    Good info. I'll leave an opening in the tape so the motor doesn't work as hard.

    Thank you for this video. I was halfway there, but didn’t know how to do the rest of it. Thank you for the straw and the vacuum cleaner and the chopstick methods. 👍

    Before watching this video I did almost all the steps including using the chopsticks and the toothbrush, but didn't know the vacuum trick. But my toaster didn't work afterwards. According to the user manual of that same manufacturer you shouldn't do any of this! Even not turning the toaster upside down to remove the crumbs. They just want it to be rotten with bread remains without giving any useful information about cleaning it properly or supply tools to do so!

    Nice and complete. A bit finicky. Seems like there ought to be able to make a toaster you could just flop open or that you could slide out parts for cleaning. I suppose if you could use a heat plate instead of wires, you could pull out the plates. Probably longer to heat up though. There are some range of household fixtures and appliances that one thinks should be redesigned.

    They have "toaster ovens," that are much easier to clean, that do the toasting sideways on a tray. Otherwise they are a pain in the butt to clean.

    Does it "taste " alcohol after that, i mean the bread won't smell products we used?

  • @KoalaSewing

    I used 96% ethyl alcohol from a pharmacy. It evaporates instantly and doesn't leave any smell even on the toaster surface; the bread will also not have any taste of alcohol.

    I would recommend getting a new, cheap toothbrush if you're going to do this, rather than using an old one and introducing mouth bacteria into your toaster.

    By old toothbrush I understand an used one. If so, I do not like the idea of having something that was in someone's mouth for months to be used to clean an appliance on which food is prepared... Maybe it is just me 🤷🏻‍♀️

  • @KoalaSewing

    @KoalaSewing

    @chuckg6846 Ahh, in that sense. The idea of using an old toothbrush, as in a used one, doesn't bother me much if I sterilize it by boiling it in water for a few minutes. Reusing and all that... However, I'm not insisting on it in any way, and understand your concern.
