How to clean the air filter on your BMW R1200GS/1250GS motorcycle is easy to do and will ensure smooth running of your BMW R1200GS/1250GS after an off-road adventure.
Any time you encounter excessive sand, dust, bugs, water, etc. it is an opportunity to check the air filter and clean or replace it as needed.

    😂 Good eyes on you for noticing that! I usually don’t, but once the key is in and turned it is very secure. I usually keep the key in my hydration pack but if the battery in the fob is low it needs to be closer to the bike for restarting it.

    Glad you found the video helpful. BMW has recommended torque values for almost all screws, however for the air filter bracket screws ... I have not found any documented recommendations. They do recommend trim panel screws to be at 2Nm (1 ft-lbs).

    It should be a crime to make something as basic as an air filter change difficult... especially when actually out on a ride and you then have to deal with multiple-size wrenches and excess panels to remove😅
