If it was really dirty before it was cleaned then you might have to do a relearn procedure- basically restart the engine a few times until the revs go back to normal.

i have a 2008 yaris sedan, the idle became unstable when the engine is at work temperature, i already cleaned the throttle body, it was really dirty, the problem solved like for 3 weeks, but again the iddle is unstable and it has some lag in the throttle. if i do the maf sensor cleaning and change my pcv valve, this should be solved? what other thing could be? i appreciate the help and videos. thanks

I update you with my case, both of the o2 sensor were having troubles keeping the amp when they heated. i replaced both and the problem solved. i think it was the last thing you should check and the least probable error. but the principal thing for having this diagnose is the fuel consumption going down. thanks for the videos mate

Check the error codes using an OBD2 scanner tool. The MAF sensor error code is P0101. Clean it first then clear the code. If the error code comes back you probably need to replace it. Codes P0110 P0100 can also relate to the MAF sensor. I used about half a can of MAF sensor cleaner, really give the wires a good spray.

Can it be cleaned without removing it ? On Yaris I changed air filter today - can see MAF in Air intake tube - can see hot wire sensor

Your asking your car to do something that requires a bit of power. When you switch the AC on the alternator needs to adjust. That's all that 1 second vibration is.

It's a factory kit. The YRX model came fitted with them when it was new.

To REPLACE the air flow sensor do u just buy the part from a auto store and plug the new one in instead of the old one

@@giftthabethe7129 Clean the throttle body (inside) but do not remove it.Leave for 10 mins to dry.No need to remove battery terminal.Whenever i clean the throttle body i also clean the MAF sensor and PCV all in one go whilst i'm under the bonnet/hood so all 3 the done and i don't have to worry about them for another 40.000/50.000 miles.

Hi,today only I watched your video.My Toyota yaris 2011 model Hatchback have problem with MAF.The Mechanic said to replace,costs NZ$450.!!!!Still car running without troubles with the old sensor.But some times waiting at signals the car making some vibrations and struggle to move as usual speed from the signal.If I give maximum axilaration on pedal, within 5 seconds the speed chane to the best speed.I have a question.If I do like your video,is the MAF's problem can solve? The part only costs $150 US so around $240 NZ . I am not sure how easy or hard it is to get the part in NZ. I would say if you can order the OEM MAF sensor for cheaper than what you were quoted, just order it and install it. It is much cheaper and not a hard install by any stretch. However, do be careful unplugging it. Honestly, if your mechanic said it was the sensor and you plan on getting it replaced, there is no harm in pulling it out and using the MAF sensor cleaner before going through with replacing it. If it fixes the issue, you will save a lot of money. Make sure you only use MAF sensor cleaner, do not use anything else because it can leave residue and it is a very fragile sensor.

The IAC sensor is different to the MAF sensor if that is what you are asking. I will try to do a video how to clean/replace an IAC sensor when I have time.

Hey how are you? So I've had another problem with my vitz.. when it idles.. I can hear a chain noise in the motor.. many repair shops say that its the timing kit and they say I need to change motor oil. I'm using 10w 40 right now and they say I need to use 20w 50 and some say I need to use 10w 30.. I live in a tropical country, does it has something to do with the temperature? The same problem causes my car to struggle to start in the morning. With one swing tho .. he makes like an old car trying to start before he idles... and then the chain noise. When driving and giving gas it makes a rough sound.. what do u think?

I think you should change your starter the flyweel must be wearing down? If this only happens when your car is COLD. Also if it was the Timing Chain, the performance will be dying eventually snapping the whole engine apart. Before you get stuck on the Road, try to go get your starter tested? Its free in Auto zone? But if you hear like a lound grind, it is definitely the starter

Channel 1 So how do I do that? I saw someone resetting it by just pulling the fuse.. is that it? And even the A/C doesn't work, the fan won't turn on under the hood like it used to. I bought a new battery, but still the same

To reset the ECU disconnect the negative battery terminal for at least 15 minutes. Reconnect the negative battery terminal. The car will need about 2 days to relearn all the functions so it will run a bit rough for a while. Also you need to check every single fuse.

You are only supposed to use MAF cleaner because anything else will leave residue. Not to mention it is only $10 a can.....
