Just a follower, the job was done. At first the motor ran worse but after running the motor for 2min the computer recalibrated itself and it now runs better than before. I cannot believe how much crud was in that pipe!
thanks it was rly usefull
Thank you so much!
Well that certainly looks easy.
how to clean the EGR cooler? I am always frustrated to take off the cooler? can you upload a video on that? Thank you very much. Like it.
That tube is only a small part of the EGR system. You need to remove the cooler, valve, and intake and clean everything.

This is why I've been debating doing it myself. I can only clean one part of the system so is it worth it or should I have a dealer do everything
Hello. How do you remove the clip that attaches the wire harness to the hair box?
What do you recommend for cleaning intervals?
Bless
I have a ct200h and it’s amazing how shitty this design is and they kept on building it without making the proper adjustments. Shows much Toyota cares about their customers. Great job Toyota engineers.
Cool video I wish it wasn't sped up though :) cheers anyway.

Is this EGR pipe what causes the knocking noise? My CT started yesterday making a terrible noise and now it shakes while driving. No engine light on.

Did you stop the knock? I am about to change spark plugs and clean the ERG pipe
@joselarrarte6964

@@SurferTy Yes, it stopped immediately after I finish the process with the sealant. Couple months ago, I tried and cleaned the ERG pipe but it did not work. By the time I applied the sealant, my engine light was on, not any more!

@@joselarrarte6964 interesting. I just swapped my spark plugs. did a cold start.. No shutters. I also tested for a gasket leak and there is none. I will stop here and wait a week or two.. See if anything acts up

@@SurferTy the actual box of the sealant says that this product fixes several things. I would recomend if you can go to the website or to take a look at reverse of the box if you have a chance, where they named all that this product fixes. Is your car maintaining the coolant level ok, or it goes away fast?

@@joselarrarte6964 i have only had the car for 2 weeks. Coolant level seems normal. I am just going to take it to a mechanic. Get this behind me
my 2012 ct200h makes some weird noise when parked/engine off and with it pumping noise while braking its annoying i am not sure if its mine alone or all ct200h has those issues ,,,,please help

Mine is a 2011 and makes a "pumping" sound while "on" but engine not running. I do have my A/C on though.. As for the braking I suppose this is normal it is "regenerating" after all.

Depress your break and notice how quickly it returns. If the break obviously sticks, as in you quickly remove your foot from it and there is a noticeable delay before it returns to neutral position, then you may need to replace your break booster. otherwise it is a normal noise, the ct is a loud car.

Replace your break booster asap. the noise your are hearing is your break pump trying to keep up the pressure in your break booster. If you don't your pump will overwork and go out as well and you will have to replace both. Very expensive to fix.

This is normal, just FYI in case anyone is reading this and notices the same thing with their car.
Do we have to do this? How often?

It may vary but first time should be at 50k miles.
What are u spraying on it to clean it ?
@robobertelliclark988

Any decent solvent will do the job. For convenience you might want to use a spray can of brake cleaner. I just used paraffin when I did mine (diesel fuel is virtually identical but more expensive). In the past I would have used petrol but the vapour is highly dangerous and so are many of the additives to modern petrol. White spirit, turpentine, or paintbrush cleaner will also do the job.
you really need to clean the cooler, thats what causes the headgasket to go

Is there an easier way to clean the cooler ?
@cerevo

@@adamlj probably the best way is to remove it, get a bucket of carb cleaner and let the cooler set in it overnight and pressure wash it out. Or replace it.

@@cerevo thanks I appreciate it but I’m not really good at that stuff … I really wish I was and wish i could do it … I was just wondering if there was anything that could help clean it even a tiny bit without taking it apart. Would you have any suggestions? Thanks man 👍🏼
Why exactly is it important to clean this? Bought mine used so I would like to keep it running as good as possible for as long as possible

Sometimes on the higher mileage cars they become clogged with carbon deposits and can cause head gasket and engine failure. The EGR pipe is usually fine, it is the EGR cooler that’s usually bad. The EGR cooler is sort of to the right side of the engine and behind the pipe, pretty hard to get to

I believe you'd usually clean it at 100k miles
That's the EGR pipe, not the valve.
