    What are u spraying on it to clean it ?

  • @robobertelliclark988
    @robobertelliclark9887 ай бұрын

    Any decent solvent will do the job. For convenience you might want to use a spray can of brake cleaner. I just used paraffin when I did mine (diesel fuel is virtually identical but more expensive). In the past I would have used petrol but the vapour is highly dangerous and so are many of the additives to modern petrol. White spirit, turpentine, or paintbrush cleaner will also do the job.

    That tube is only a small part of the EGR system. You need to remove the cooler, valve, and intake and clean everything.

    This is why I've been debating doing it myself. I can only clean one part of the system so is it worth it or should I have a dealer do everything

    @@adamlj probably the best way is to remove it, get a bucket of carb cleaner and let the cooler set in it overnight and pressure wash it out. Or replace it.

    I have a ct200h and it’s amazing how shitty this design is and they kept on building it without making the proper adjustments. Shows much Toyota cares about their customers. Great job Toyota engineers.

    Sometimes on the higher mileage cars they become clogged with carbon deposits and can cause head gasket and engine failure. The EGR pipe is usually fine, it is the EGR cooler that’s usually bad. The EGR cooler is sort of to the right side of the engine and behind the pipe, pretty hard to get to

    Mine is a 2011 and makes a "pumping" sound while "on" but engine not running. I do have my A/C on though.. As for the braking I suppose this is normal it is "regenerating" after all.

  • @stinkypacman
    @stinkypacman4 жыл бұрын

    Depress your break and notice how quickly it returns. If the break obviously sticks, as in you quickly remove your foot from it and there is a noticeable delay before it returns to neutral position, then you may need to replace your break booster. otherwise it is a normal noise, the ct is a loud car.

  • @1gizmospot
    @1gizmospot2 жыл бұрын

    Replace your break booster asap. the noise your are hearing is your break pump trying to keep up the pressure in your break booster. If you don't your pump will overwork and go out as well and you will have to replace both. Very expensive to fix.
