How to Clean Aquarium Decorations

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

When cleaning your fish aquarium decorations and plants you shouldn’t have to remove anything. Start by getting yourself a sponge with no additives and just start manually scrubbing the things in your aquarium you want to clean.
A lot of beginners in this hobby think that you have to remove all the decorations and bleach them or other crazy ideas but that’s not the case. The best option is to leave all your fish in the tank and to do a water change while manually scrubbing what you want to in the tank.

You may find it most affective when you get into a weekly routine of cleaning your fish tank. I advise people to do all of the aspects at once. Stir by removing a percentage of your aquarium water and this is known as a water change. Once the water level is lower this enables you to clean the aquarium a little easier. You can scrub your decorations with a sponge a lot easier now that the water level is lower.
If you have live plants and you’re trying to remove or clean them be very gentle. Fake plants are a lot easier to clean in your fish tank then live plants for the mere fact that you can track my plants easier.
Sometimes you can find a bottom feeder or an algae eater to help take care of some of the algae in your fish tank. Snails are known to be helpful when it comes to cleaning hair algae in your fish tank. Also catfish species can be a great help. The issue happens when people rely on inhabitants to take care of the algae index clean the tank by themselves. Because most of that cleaning is going to be done manually by yourself.
Otherwise known as an aquarium water changer can make cleaning your aquarium a lot easier. It’s a device that hooks up to your sink and Fossett and remove water from your fish tank and also Adsit at the flip of a switch. This could be really helpful because people have used buckets to remove water and that’s not very efficient in comparison.
Helpful info on Pleco cleaner catfish:
The Common Pleco (Hypostomus plecostomus) is a very controversial species in the aquarium hobby. I personally believe they should not be sold in pet stores, yet they are one of the most widely available fish there is. Fortunately, I’ve been seeing them less often lately. These are the cute little catfish you see for sale at your local chain store that the clueless “aquatics expert” will recommend you buy for your 10 gallon tank along with your fluorescent pink gravel and SpongeBob decorations to eat the algae.
Don’t get me wrong, they’ll do a great job until they reach about 6 inches. Then just scraping algae off your glass isn’t enough. They are omnivores, so they need more than just algae in their diet. They also should have some driftwood to snack on as well. Aside from the change in diet, these South American beasts can reach upwards of 20 inches and, in some cases, can grow larger. On top of that, they are super invasive and some people are going out and pulling them out of rivers they don’t belong in by the hundreds.
This is unfortunately partly the fault of humans releasing them when they can no longer care for them. On the flip side of this, I love these fish. I think they are absolutely beautiful and are great at eating uneaten food on the bottom of the tank. I also love seeing the absolutely shocked look on peoples faces when they see how big they can truly get. We’ve taken a couple fairly large ones in over the years and, if you have a big tank, I think they make a great addition.

I use top filter in my 30g tank..and I keep it bare bottom with a piece of driftwood only..I turn on lights for 2hours a day..and whatever the amount of algae on glass I found, I use a sharp razor blade and clearly remove.
