I LOVE MY CHINESE ALGAE EATERS!!!! I got two for my 20gal tank. They get along great with all the other fish! They're playful, affectionate, and love the tank heater. Lol. Since adding them, my tank lit up with frolicking and socializing fish. I am so glad I got them!

I have 4 goldfish that I got from the fair about a week ago, they’re eating well so I’m happy, but I just don’t know how long I can keep them. If I had my own house I would get them a giant pond but I’m a teenager soooo 😭 I’m thinking if I can’t keep them long term, I could either give them to my friend who’s also a fish keeper or my lfs

instructions on stability say to dose 5ml per 10 gallons on day 1. days 2-7 dose 2.5ml per 10 gallons. you can add fish "at any time as long as dosage is maintained for 7 days." sounds dubious.

Thinking about getting an 150 gallon rubbermaid stock tank. To turn it into an indoor pond. How many of these goldfish can fit in that safely even as they grow?

Great vid!!! Very thorough. Acetone on your bare skin is super healthy! Especially if you use it on a regular basis. I am a graffiti writer/artist and also caulked for a living in a union setting. Wear gloves. But acetone will also eat gloves after time. Better than your skin and better than it osmosing into your bloodstream. Numtumbout. Peace

Troll here. if you have city water then the chlorine will kill all the bacteria on the filter pad well water is fine.( I know you addressed this but those studies stated tap water with a well if fine not city water)

You should be quarantining any fish(2-4wks min.) you buy regardless of where you bought it from before adding it to a tank with other fish🤦

I’m new to the hobby… I just bought 3 Cory’s and 2 sucking loaches - called algae eaters at pet smart. I thought they would be perfect tank mates but the loaches chase the Cory’s around. Not aggressively but it does happen it is short lived. Also my Cory’s like to swim along the glass a lot all the way to the top. Is that normal?

No plants in the tank ….plus full light…..Algae will for sure take over …..no matter what substrate you have.

When my daughter was little she wanted a fish tank so I bought her a black moor and she wanted a beta. I made sure the moor was a little smaller than the beta and they were the best of friends. Evey fish keeper I've come across says that's a bad combination, but the little guys didn't mind and they were both so super chill that I added some rainbows. I had no idea and was just looking at how pretty; my problem came when I added Angels. I didn't know they were Chiclids and they killed off my tank when I was at work and she was in school.

I had fair fish as a kid , 50 years later I have moved house and decided to put a mini pond ( 20 gal tote ) in my yard with substrate plus 3 small fish and plenty of underwater and floating plants . A solar fountain and solar pump finish it off . I have given them pond sticks but they seem to prefer eating the plants ( that is why they are in there ) algae and mosquito larvae . They will not live for 20 years or more but their life with me is better than where they were . ps. I really don't like the modern deformed fish with giant heads or bodies and unable to swim normally .

Thank you for making a video about the common goldfish. I have two ( a common and a comet in a 45 gallon) I would love to have a pond but currently that is not in the cards. I have two filters, change out 4 buckets of water weekly and try not to use too many chemicals. I am still learning. Even with all of this, I have lost 2 fancies and one common in the past 2 yrs. ( no, I didn’t have the fancies with the common ) fish keeping is definitely a hobby.

6:07 are those fish playing or is that aggression? I have an oranda thats huge and just got a smaller black moor and the new black moor is following it around like those last 2 videos and wont leave it alone. Someone please help
