CORRECTION FOR CLEANING THE OVEN GLASS DOOR PANEL: please note, I recommend using a NON-SCRATCHING scrub pad (the blue one!) to avoid small micro scratches. The green one I used is heavy duty and CAN cause tiny scratches. I don’t care about this oven because as I said, it’s going to the junk yard on Monday, but I realize it was the WRONG tool to use and I wanted to point that out to you guys! SORRY! And thank you to those that pointed it out to me. I was totally not thinking about longevity of this darn thing when filming! ❤️

I love this video 😍 I really would like to see a video or even just advice on how to get clean an electric solid stove plate. I have tried bicarb and dish soap with a toothbrush, different cleaners for the store but nothing seems to get them to look completely clean. Been struggling with this issue for over a year, I have found no KZread videos or web pages that have anything that actually works :(

@@tinkie_xo Hi! Did you contact the manufacturer? Did it have any cleaning advise in the manual, or warranty paperwork? Some cleaners might void the warranty, so it should be in there. I'm not understanding exactly what type of item you're talking about. Or what type of dirt you're trying to remove. Is it built up grease? If all else fails, go to Home Depot's cleaning aisle, orange oil if you can find it works miracles, or the product line by Zep works miracles too. (*Zep drain cleaner cuts through the stuff that the drain cleaners from Walmart/Target etcetera leave blocked.) Zep's stuff is industrial strength, it works. Hope this helps. Take care, stay safe, have a nice day. ☺️✌️☮️🖖 😷 🙉🙈🙊

This is very useful! When I lived in apartments, I used to just move away in order to obtain a clean oven, but now that I'm in a house I suppose I should learn how to do this. I like that I do not have to use EZ-OFF for this - I have bad memories of that smell from childhood.

A very experienced appliance repair person came in to replace a control board for my oven. He told me to never use the self-cleaning option on an oven, especially an older model. He states that it wears out an oven more quickly and it'll frequently damage heating elements, temperature sensors and even the electronic control boards. He suggested doing what this video states and to scrape off debris with a plastic scraper, wipe the rest down with some vinegar and anything that is really stuck on to just leave it.

@OptoPhone All of this makes total sense to me except one very important step- "Anything that is really stuck on, JUST TO LEAVE IT"?? An appliance repair "specialist" and this was his BEST oven cleaning advice for baked on, stuck on globs of food- THAT was the very best he could advise you to do?? Surely there HAS to be a way to remove those stubborn, burnt on chunks of food? Its been thru my own trial & error that any pieces of food, anything that's spilled before, during or when removing the baked dish, if not promptly cleaned as soon as the oven is cool, will only cause this baked on food particle will continue to keep being baked on with every use of the oven, will just continue getting "baked on" your oven eventually getting so burnt on that it becomes black and will eventually

I couldn’t get a replacement control board in the near future. Samsung products made in China. I had to buy a new oven.

Try cutting those large 3M pads into 1/3rds. It will make it much easier to use and you won't drag the clean part of the pad thru the parts you are scrubbing with your finger tips. Also, a razor blade window scraper such as you use to remove paint from windows works well at cleaning the glass in the oven. Just use a fresh razor blade as they tend to rust and will scratch the glass if they do.

Thanks for video, I enjoy them, will try it. I hate deep cleaning an oven I find quickly wiping inside oven and glass door EVERY time I use it with washing up liquid and water and then buffing to a shine keeps it in showroom condition! Also I use a tray under casseroles that could spill over or use a special oven liner on the bottom of oven that you wipe off, prevents burnt on nasties in the first place 😀

Most warranties only last a couple years and they only cover manufacturer defects... chances are you don't have a warranty to preserve anymore. If your oven is working well and has been for a long time any issue that might pop up soon probably wouldn't be covered by a manufacturer's warranty anyway. Clean in peace Cheers!

You can use Arm & Hammer's Super Washing Soda for more cleaning power. I think of it as baking soda's stronger cousin. :-) Per the Arm & Hammer website: "Ovens, Range Tops, and Broiler Pans - Ease these messy jobs with a solution of ½ cup Super Washing Soda dissolved in a gallon of warm water. For stubborn, crusted soils, sprinkle Super Washing Soda dry on a damp sponge to scour quickly and easily. Remove burners and soak in solution for at least 30 minutes to banish greasy build-up. Rinse well and dry." Probably best to wear gloves. All the best!

Best thing to come out of my oven is vegan green bean casserole made from scratch. Its so delicious and addicting. But, thanks Melissa for showing a way to clean the oven without the harsh chemicals. My mom can't be around them even if its lemon oven spray its to strong for her asthma. I have asthma so I bear through it and try not to breath so much and open all the doors and windows too to help air out the place. But, it takes a while to let it sit too. So, my mom always has to leave the house for hours at a time while I clean the oven. So, thank you for showing us a more eco-friendly way to deep clean an oven. Appreciate it. I will have to try your version with your product recommendations next time I clean the oven. Thanks. Your the best! Hope your dislocated shoulder gets feeling better soon. Happy Holidays to you and Chad. 😊😁❤❤🥳🎄

Thank you for ALL your cleaning tips! I have a self cleaning over and was told you can clean the area that is outside the coil? And around the top area that self cleaning wouldn’t clean? My oven is way pass any warranty. Also could you tell me what to use on the outside panel. Mine is black. When I shined my flashlight on it was terrible. My microwave and dishwasher washer too. Would I treat like windows? Thanks in advance!

Your question is tough, both my husband and I baked some really good things this year, like bread and Cookies (chocolate chunks is the new chocolate chips, people!), but I think the best goes to my first (and second) time trying to make an apple pie - it was beyond delicious!

I vacuum the crumbs out of the oven and bake a pan of water to soften the gunk like how you clean a microwave. Not sure if it's a good idea to do all the time but it worked for me before.

2 questions on this subject for all of you. How do you get to the back and top of the oven to clean? I’m not able to use any scrubbing pressure strength because of angle of my arm to get in there. Also, I never see the heating coils, top or bottom, when people are cleaning their ovens. Nor do they ever mention removing them! Tips please!

Yes, these cleaning “pros” conveniently skip over addressing how to clean the interior ceiling of the oven where the heating elements are. I’ve watched a ton of cleaning tip videos and none of them address this! Do they not know how to do it either? How can you make a video like this giving tips on how to clean and oven and not even address this issue?

It's really easy to apply this paste with a paintbrush. and the best technique is to leave the oven light on (for a small amount of heat) and let this sit overnight. It dissolves the gunk and makes it much easier to clean off.

Awesome video! Do you have a video on how to clean the fruit/crisper drawers in the fridge. I have a Samsung French door fridge and anytime I try to clean in between the drawers I find it so hard to get out the food particles because they're in the glass barrier. Any tips will help... Thank you! 🙏

I will need to try using this method next time I clean my oven. BTW, I did clean my oven racks a couple of weeks ago and your method worked out wonderfully. As a side note, you may want to use gloves when doing any type of cleaning especially during the winter months. You will thank me later :)

I use the fire place glass cleaner on the oven door and a plastic razor scraper, does an amazing job.
