To temporarily hold the backstraps on while I was deciding which worked best for me, I took a round toothpick and inserted it in through the backstrap and frame. It was very easy to remove and replace until I found the backstrap that worked for me, then I used the pin that came with the pistol for the final install.

This is an excellent video. Good point about the backstrap change not affecting the trigger reach much. Thanks!

The Pin on CZ is metric size. Use 2 mm. for backstrap

It is very simple..some people just over analyze it! I had to use the L backstrap. Carry on

I own all 3 of the CZ P10 pistols . The P10C has been my EDC for 2 years. All 3 guns shipped with the small back strap installed! CZ could have saved me and a lot of other buyers from some aggravation of they had installed the medium back straps at the factory! It took some serious pounding to drive the pins out! 😠 I have a cheap 'Made in China' punch set but at least I had them to get the job done! 🙏 Even bent one of the punches, but for some strange reason the set had 2 punches of that same size! (1/16) 😂

Yeah, I think this was an error in the design and they should have looked at a system that didn't inolve roll pins. Luckily it's one con and the rest of the the gun is fantastic. I bought the G19 because it was a reliable first choice with lots of support but I shot the P10C significantly better out of the gate and I expect the P10F will be a equally excellent performer.

@@Osprey1994 The Gen 5 Glock trigger is probably their best trigger to date? I like my G19 and it shoots accurately but the CZ P10C has a better trigger and it was easily my most accurate pistol until I bought the Optics Ready P10S and P10F and put the Holosun 507C on both guns! Now the P10S with a Hyve +3 mag extension making it about the same size as the P10C 🙄 is my EDC. Go figure? 😁

This would probably be my one gripe about the design of the P10 series. The nice thing about my G19 is that I can pretty much take the entire gun apart with two pins and one of them is the pin that holds the backstrap in place. I have switched back and forth between no back strap and medium beaver tail a few times and now I am back to not having one as I feel I get a higher grip without it.

After watching your nice video I was very eager to get started on changing from the small to the large backstrap on my CZ P10 C. I succeeded but it was extremely difficult to remove and replace the pin. Far more easy to do on my Glock 19 and Walther PPQ!

If you think changing out the backstrap on a P10 series is hard, try changing out the backstrap on a P07/P09. Monumental pain in the ass.

I got mine out, but when I put it back in, it was really difficult, the roll pin punch ended up actually going inside the pin and flaring it out at one end, I squeezed it back together best I could and kept going, unfortunately it ended up enlarging the hole on one side and I could not get it centered, it is almost on the surface of one side and feels kinda rough now :/ CZ really should have just used a smooth pin, not the jagged folded sheet metal one. I was extremely careful but still ended up damaging it.

the pin is hard to get out. I eventually switched to the small but not sure I won't go back to the medium. I find the grip texture to be very aggressive and will be installing Talons on mine.

I just picked up a p10c and the pin sits in very stiff... Does it just go in and out via one side or doesn't it matter and I just have to use some gentle force on it? Thanks in advance

  • @practicalshooter6517

It shouldn't matter from which side you are pulling them out, either one should work. But some guns require some pins to be punched from left to right, like I do on my videos. Because of this, I treat all my guns the same. A brand new P10 will be tight at first, then it will loosen up, and then will remain the same for the life of the gun.

I would really LOVE to do a comparison between those 2 handguns, but I have a budget, and I already have the P10F. Maybe in the future I will acquire the 10C, but as of now it is not in the making. I believe you can already find this comparison somewhere on KZread. Good luck Prince.
