I have the xbites and FMJ. Is the daemos in between those two or is it just a faster action xbites?

I got the FMJ rod from the shop when it first came out and the lack line sensitivity is crazy good. Also, for being a stronger rod, it plays fish really well.

I‘m quite surprised that you didn‘t mention the P5 Super Destroyer. Isn‘t this rod supposed to be a heavier jig rod as well? Although more bend in comparison to its predecessor from the Destroyer Carbon Head Series still a very good jig rod imo. Why didn‘t you mention it? Would be really interested in knowing your thoughts….

That tach shaft is absolute badassery for close quarters pitching/flipping. I live in the 1/2oz to 3/4oz jig world with this rod and it’s phenomenal. Just like he said, fast paced, close quarters, high impact, boat flipping… all what the tach shaft does phenomenally AND it’s incredibly sensitive. Transmits even the faintest bites.

The tachyon shaft is an interesting weird one. I actually use it for very particular things. Skipping a bull flat with a belly weighted hook, skipping a jig, close quarters flipping

If you already had 15-20 rods from expride to cashion to Dobyns champ xp and you wanted to see what destroyer was all about which rod would you get? I want one bad but don’t know where to start.

Great video! I’ll likely be picking up a Dark Sleeper soon! Have you done a video breaking down choices on all the lighter P5 options? I have a couple of the lighter rods as I’m more of a finesse guy. But I would love to see an in depth video giving use cases for each (I’d probably pick up a few more!). Thanks for the great content

I switched over to pretty much exclusively fishing kayak tourneys a couple years ago. When I first did, missing fish and having fish jump off was a huge problem for me. Finally I realized it was the way i was fishing. As opposed to standing on a boat deck 2-3ft off the water where you have lots of room and leverage to get solid hooksets; I was fishing mostly sitting about 3-6 inches off the water. I soon came to realize that the heavy big rods i'd use standing in a boat just were not going to cut it. The huge thick gaff like hooks from boat were not going to cut it either. I had to buy thinner, coated hooks. For texas rigs and flipping I went to the g-finnesse hybrid worm hooks. I also changed the baits i was using. Instead of using jigs and chatterbaits with big, thick hooks, I started trying to find ones with thinner, coated hooks.

Thanks for the education on Megabass rods. You did a great job explaining it so if someone has a certain preference they know which rod to get. Megabass rods really stepped up their game lately (not that they were bad before).

I love my X Bites rod for smaller jigs, texas rigged plastics, and free rigs. I swear you can feel the fish breathe on your bait. Great rod! Thanks for your explanation of these rods. Always a pleasure to shop at the hook up tackle

I love these videos, you explain jig rods in way nobody does and it's the best way in my opinion to do so. Can you elaborate the damos a little further?

I bought a Tachyon Shaft from you guys a few weeks ago. I absolutely love it! The Sleeper Craw is one of my favorites to throw on it. Great for kayak fishing too!

This video came in so clutch and helped a lot when making decisions. I bought the FMJ at the beginning of this year and I absolutely love it. Caught my PB smallie on a trip at Havasu with it. Paired with Zillion HD TW. Now I’m looking to fill the hole of junk fishing and moving baits. I have been eyeing the dark sleeper and this just confirms my thoughts. Thanks Ben!

Love this! This is exactly what I needed to know. Have an x-bites but want something with a little more power… sounds like the FMJ might be the ticket 😊

Dark Sleeper and FMJ for the win! Bank or kayak, I’m limited to a few rods and I love throwing swim jigs.
