Thank you. Is it possible to do "over head" shots when filming? I was having trouble seeing the difference between cut away and tear away. The camera made it look 1- dimensional because it was lying flat. 😢

What would you use on a backpack pocket? Would you then cover the stitches?

  • @EmbroideryLibraryEL

Since a backpack will be going through more wear and tear we would recommend a medium-weight cutaway. You can cover the stitches, but it's not necessary since the inside pocket won't be visible to most.

What stabilizer to use with your unicorn design that has 60,000 stitches? I plan on stitching it on cotton fabric then sew this to a beach towel. How many layers of this stabilizer? Any advice will be appreciated.

We recommend using one layer of medium-weight cutaway with a layer of temporary spray adhesive in between.

I've seen that some people use more than one layer of stabilizer. When and why would that be indicated?

  • @EmbroideryLibraryEL

In most instances we don't recommend using more than one layer. Doing so only creates more material for your needle to work through. Our general recommendation is to use at least a medium-weight cutaway stabilizer on most projects (with the exception of embroidering on organza).

For stretchy fabric it would be best to use a medium-weight cutaway stabilizer with a temporary spray adhesive to keep the fabric in place.

Hello!) I live in Russia and this message is written with the help of an online translator, so forgive me if there will be mistakes) I am engaged in embroidery recently. A year ago I bought a 15 needle embroidery machine. I try to deal with everything myself and generally everything works out. Recently sent 10 T-shirts, 100% cotton, for embroidery. I drew the design and made embroidery on 9 T-shirts, but the tenth.....vsya torn. The fabric of the T-shirt, to the touch, very dry and around the perimeter of the embroidery, in some places, began to tear. I embroidered with a solid adhesive fleece 62g + tear-off stabiliser 80g (80% cotton 30elastane). Then I tried sewing, point fleece 40gr in two layers - perpendicular. No help(* If you have experience in solving similar problems, please advise me).

Hi there! Some questions we would ask for troubleshooting would be: What density of design are you using? Are you hooping your fabric and stabilizer together? How heavy are the T-shirts that you are using? How much stretch do the T-shirts have? In most instances we recommend using a stabilizer that is no lighter than a soft and sheer cutaway stabilizer. Tearaway stabilizers can degrade more quickly with continued needle perforations - especially if you are using a denser design.
