Honestly after 1000 hours it's definitely helped int he beginning plus it's a good way to learn how the game and many of its functions work just being able to do it all off the bat.

Building is annoying. Instead of spending 4+ days hauling logs around I lowered their weight to 1 and plank weight to .1. I'm not playing a walking simulator and the only time I'm building is so far in the woods it wouldn't matter. Sure I could use a car to do it but then I'm getting in and out and in and out I'd rather just walk it

Yea I'd say don't use it, I also have this. Once I start cheating, I try things for an hour and get bored and cant go back to vanilla either, thats why I enable cheats way after I beat the game or played too much and there isn't much else left

if you got a car and are fairly leveled up in melee weapons, you can travel to the south side of muldraugh where there are several factories. on the east side of the whole compound there is a container with lots of wooden boxes filled with planks. you can take those boxes back to base if you want. Another great location to get planks is the construction site at the south of rosewood, just below the firestation. - it has several large limbers - each contains several logs. also, if u wanna level up carpentry quickly, disassemble double beds wherever you can - they provide a ton of xp in addition to planks and nails

​@potatoes1640 you need an axe, while holding it you can either melee attack a tree or right click on the tree and select chop down tree. This will give you logs, which using a saw you can turn into planks

The pain of farming resources is a PTSD for survival players😅, experiencing a bit the same in 7DTD😅

Boy, I'm going to create a play just to mess with this. Create outfits, build shit, decorate things like I want, disassembling cars and mounting them again...

Everybody so concerned with surviving as long as possible they avoid the game. Use the debug menu when your wana have some fun and don’t care for a Guinness world record

Mods are fun, starting with 10 aiming and 7 reloading WITHOUT using debug!

Now I can test weapons without worrying about this situation: “Oh hey this looks neat” *fires at zomboid* “Well that suc- YOU HAVE ALERTED THE HORDE

And the best part is, it’s coded into the game, so it’s not cheating 😁

That AVGN "we're gonna cheat" always puts a smile on my face.

The default abundance settings in zomboid are unreleasticlly low, it's perfectly fine to turn them up

I always recommend using this, you can play completely vanilla not caring about the bugs because you can use cheat to fix them

This is the greatest guide video I've seen on PZ yet. I've been playing a new character after watching this short several months ago, and they're still alive, thriving, and mowing down zombies.

Putting "-debug" opens the game into an incomprehensible bunch of data. Can't load a game or save, can't start a new game. Can't play the game AT ALL with it enabled. So.... is there something you did differently? Because it has NOT worked or me, at all.

if you’re seeing a window full of code when activating debug mode, that appears in the event a bug occurs in PZ. there is a button at the top to close this window but depending on the bug it may just keep popping back up. double check what mods you have loading on start up, and try using the alternative launch mode if necessary.

yes, debug mode makes it so when a bug occurs, that window pops up. it’s meant for mod creators to work out issues in their code as it happens. i believe there is some sort of way to disable that functionality when on that screen but i am not certain. perhaps someone else in the comments can confirm.

Yeah, there are 3 blank square buttons near the top middle of the window (I play in windowed mode), the right-most button seems to be the one to close the code out and take me to the game proper. Thanks dude... I really appreciate your advice, as I was about to just give up on the whole thing. :P

UPDATE: Ok, the squares aren't _always_ blank. They seem to have a Pause/Play style icons on them. And they're a little to the left of center on the screen. Pushing the right most button twice will take you back to gameplay. Just to the left of those 3 buttons is a small toggle box, that says "Break on Error". Toggle it, and it will stop popping up. Also, player beware! Debug mode is fun, but it's def a lot of power to hand your survivor...since it can effectively make you a god of the Zomboid world. :P Additionally, there seems to be something about calling upon "debug powers" that has a cumulatively negative effect upon your FPS. After about 7 hours of playtime and use, I was down to about 10FPS. I'm sort of banking on it being fixed by restarting the game without debug on. Since I essentially decided to give myself a single play session to use it to fix a few things around my compound before disabling it and going back to _normal, _*_legal_* play. :P Thank again for the mention of the "button" to take me back to the game proper. Without that suggestion, I would have given up on it immediately...so, I appreciate you taking the time to reply with that advice.

Here's a fun idea. Spawn in a ton of ammo and a firearms. Now spawn in as many zomboids as your PC can handle. Now have fun. Or week every aspect of the game to have the perfect playthrough.

I use cheat menu rebirth mod plus a few extra things that add walls and items you can't build normally, it helps to build stuff for rp's.

Nearly 700 hours and I just now find this out.

Idk why but I found a m16 then later when I tried the debug menu with my friend there is no m16

I use this solely for reversing zombie infection from bullcrap glitchy wounds.

I am so glad, but now the danger is gone, if I die, I can just go back, I can be invincible, I can't regulate cheats, cheats are unregulatable. I can't regulate unregulatable things I can't stop myself anymore

sometimes it’s difficult to do certain things that i want to do in a reasonable time frame, and i’m just not willing to invest that much time into ones and zeroes depending on how i feel. i try to cheat in a way that just grants me stuff i that would have otherwise been available for me if i had just grinded

When I do this my game just doesn’t load

My favorite cheat is making the xp multiplier to 1000.00

Unfortunately debug mode for me was permanently disabled somehow, I can’t use it

I just use cheat menu rebirth, it's more convenient. Im new and finding out new things that cause me to die is just demoralising after restarting 10 times in a row until i stop dying on spawn. So sometimes i might just give myself the items i had found previously such as a sledgehammer and some nails. Nothing excessive, just nornal things so i can quickly get back to where i was before a zombie ranged attacked my neck as i was running down stairs. Stairs are buggy as hell man.

Its okay to heal using cheats when using an NPC mod which also enables hostile NPCs that can deal massive amounts of damage but are immune to 3+ crowbar hits, right?.... right?!

You can do the same with "/setaccesslevel [name] admin" in multiplayer.
