Thank you for showing this! I have been changing my yarn this way but second guessed myself when others said to use the Russian splice. I find this sooo much easier and so far I haven’t had any socks unravel. So I’m sticking with this!

Of course just changing it for a different color asumes everything else is equal. It would be good to know what adjustments are needed if the actual yarn is not the same in thickness or weight , and how this affects the adjustments for cylinder stitch tension and especially ribber (stitch) tension as well.
