    Thanks Dan. Followed this to the letter and now have a great watch that fits well without the horrid gap. Wish Seiko had done this in the first place. So now it’s out of the box and back on my wrist, can’t thank you enough.

    Thanks for putting this video up! It was very helpful. That gap in the clasp was driving me nuts, it looks much better now. I got a very similar looking clasp from Ali Express for around $13 Aussie delivered. I used a power drill and a 1.5mm bit and it worked like a charm.

    I did this mod to my 033 a couple of years ago, it turns a bloody uncomfortable bracelet into a pleasure to wear. I also recommend a Crystal Times flat sapphire with clear AR as well, expensive but it's well worth it, tried a domed with blue and didn't like it at all. Cheers.

    @@watchmewithwatches The day my SARB035 was delivered was the same day they announced the SARBs were being discontinued. I was lucky enough to get mine for $300 new at that time. I’ve always loved everything about the watch except the clasp. I’ve tried in vain to make the clasp better for me by bending and other various means to get rid of the huge gap but nothing worked and I could never get a good fit. I like the stock bracelet otherwise and I’m so thankful I found your video. I’ve had everything I needed on hand to do this swap for years and it just never occurred to me. It took maybe 10 minutes to find everything and get it done. Thanks again.

    7:05 can you make a video showing the pin that originally goes in that endlink? I have not been able to fasten that long rectangular fastener to this endlink because collars fall right through the holes on that endlink. Is there a certain type of pin that goes in there? All the other pins and collars for the other links seem to be too thin.

  • @steelsteez6118

    @@watchmewithwatches ahhhh, by "sleeve" you're not referring to the collar are you? (cause I've tried standard collars with no success as they just fall through the link holes). Can you point me to a page or website link showing this part? A picture would help as I may have it lying around somewhere if not a picture will allow me to order the part number.

  • @steelsteez6118

    @steelsteez6118

    Жыл бұрын

    @@watchmewithwatches nvm figured it out through a helpful forum post. The sleeve you're referring to is the collar that I was already using as mentioned in my original post. The difference is that for the clasp arm the collar installation is way different than on the normal center links. On the normal male center links, one hole is larger and one is smaller. The larger part is where the collar goes. The difference with the clasp arm link is that you don't have a normal center link male end like you do on the other links. You only have a female end and then the arm clasp end through which the collars don't fit through and unfortunately the collars go emright through both outer holes of the link that attaches to it. The trick is to put two collars through the outer holes of the link that attaches to the clasp arm. You then have to push the pin through the opposite side of the arrow. Also the pin is different for this arm clasp. It's a bit shorter than the rest.

  • @simonhj

    Just did mine today. Turns out that I didn't need to drill out the link. However, one thing you need to be careful of is that there are tiny little shims in the centre section of the links on this bracelet, and sometimes they come out and can be very difficult to get back in (it's inconsistent from link to link). I've lost a couple fiddling with this bracelet trying to get the fit right, and have used up the spares from the extra links. If you don't have them, the pins won't hold when you reinsert them. Even when you do, they get a bit easier to get in and out once you've done it a few times, so keep an eye on them in case they come loose over time.

    I got mine to finally fit this year by eating less ( no fat shaming anyone though). I was pleased it fit & with my will power ( didn't buy biscuits- at home 24/7 +bikkies= bad move..), a shame that same tenacity hasn't (yet) been applied in other areas of my life ( oh, the guilt). Nice to see someone else with the 035..those 033 are far too common & vulgar, aren't they ( not jealous about their prices increasing more at all)?
