Thanks a lot. After my dad passed away nov 2021, i had no idea how to... Now i know. Its Bosch, just like this one. Thanks. 🤝👍
Thanks for the suggestion. Grateful. Turned out that the issue was different. I got a new long screwdriver but still couldnt find the slot of the screw. Finally opened up the jigsaw top cover (quite simple) and took out the shaft to which the blade is attached. Turned out that the long slim swrewdriver wasn't slim enough. The last part of the hollow shaft is maybe 2-3mm in diameter so one needs a really slim and long screwdrives. Anyway, once you remove the shaft, any thin 3-4 inch long screwdriver does the job. Hope this helps all those follwing you. Btw, you are doing a great job. Thanks and keep it up. As a diehard DIY guy, loving your posts.

Exactly right, same issue here. Only a very slim and long screwdriver does the job!
From one lady to another, thank you. I am old now and some thick shrubs need cutting. I can't hand saw these days. I lack the strength so bought a Bosch jigsaw from ebay but couldn't figure how to put the blade in. I had one decades ago which had a screw on the side which could be turned between the thumb and finger, and was so much less messing about. I would never have figured this different one out for myself. Appreciated.
Very grateful. You made my day, after my jigsaw went to smithereens and I could borrow one from my neighbor but didn't understand how to change the blade.
Great stuff, inherited a really old Bosch and been scratching my head about changing the blade.
Thank you so much it was a long time that I haden't changed my blade, and your video helped me quickly to remember. Well done. Greetings from Geneva.

Same here. Greetings from Barcelona.
Just starting a woodworking group at a day centre. Was given this jigsaw along with a few hand tools. I've owned loads over the years but never had one where changing the blade was so involved as this. No wonder they gave it away.
Thank you! I’m using my dad’s old Bosch unit, and I never would have figured it out!
Thankyou. Someone has given me one with a broken blade in it and I've no idea how to get it out. Legend.
Thank you, this jigsaw just made me crazy, couldn't figure it out!

That was really helpful! Thanks a lot, a lot of vintage Bosch have these mechanisms. Quite puzzling at first, but once you get the hang of it, it feels really secure.
Thanks for that amazing instruction. Couldn't figure it out by myself. Greeting from Germany - the origin of Bosch ;-)

Glad I could help. It’s amazing how many people have these jigsaws!!
MCP I am. Admitted that to our son and my wife. Got the blades but just could not fix one. Gave up and jigsaw has started getting rusted. Have now revived its renovation. Only problem is that in spite of having chests full of tools, could not find a long flat screwdriver which is required. Will buy one tomorrow. Thank you lady. One down for male DIYs.
Many thanks!! I needed to grind the handle of my screwdriver to reach that screw. Even in the highest position of the shaft. Greetings from Germany - origin of Bosch :)
That's pretty ingenious that jigsaw we only had I think one brand here in the United States that's green that had that grizzly power tools it was a 5 amp but you had to remove the blade the same way with a screwdriver to the top I never personally owned it but thank you for sharing truly appreciate it
You are the best 🙏🏽thanks we were struggling today with the old jigsaw my dad bought it a long time ago i don't know how to use it he too doesn't know hes probably getting older and grumpier and toxic he hates me for his own mistakes he should of knew 😭
I bought my Bosch about 30-years ago and seldom used it. I forgot about the 90 degree part and wondered why the new blades would not stay in place and/or not line up properly :-)
Thank you ! Saved a DIY session !
Very informative thank you! Best video I’ve seen yet!

Brilliant! Thanks. Really clear.
Thanks for the helpful guide! Seems my thin screwdriver is too short and my long screwdriver is too wide… quick trip to the shop is in order 🙂
Very useful, thanks! 👍👍
Obviously a long time since I changed blade. Had to take I look if it was something with that deep hole. It was. Thanks! :)
realy great. Thx from germany
From Philippines here, Thanks a lot so informative.
Thanks a lot. Couldn't figure this out but after your video ... No problem.

Thanks. This helped me out!
You save my day thank you 👍🏻
Thank you so much.
Thank for your help.
Thank you! Really helpful. It was my late father's jigsaw and the old blade hád broken and I couldn't get it out! Easy when you know how :)
thanks. I would never have guessed that method.
Thanks for the video :)
Worked for me thank you

Merci infiniment pour cette vidéo !!!! 🙂🙂🙂🥰🙏🏻
Thank you!
Thank you
Lol yep so that's what that hole was for. Glad I Checked thank u
Thank you.
I came across your video because I was researching my skill brand jigsaw when Bosch owned the brand mine looks a bit similar I wish it was green I love green but did not want to buy Hitachi at tbe time i live in United States basically why we didn't get that version of Bosch hear in the United States and we will never get it the market is too oversaturated and Bosch power tools if North America doesn't want to tarnish their professional blue brand here they put a DIY out because that's what the Green version is there's so many nice tools that I wish wash made luckily some people have purchase some of the tools at the 12 volt mini chainsaw it will fit the same batteries as the blue Bosch 12 volt line so you can work that
Thank you :D
Good vid and much appreciated as I've inherited a very old jigsaw. Don't do what I did and hold the blade in your teeth. I now look like Joker from Batman.
Thanks for sharing. By the way, can you instruct me how to make curve cuts with the jigsaw BOSCH PST-50E?
@LivinganOrganisedLife
3 жыл бұрын
You’re welcome. I’m not sure about the curve cuts. I tend to cut as close as I can with the jigsaw and then sand it back. use a Dremel for anything really awkward or detailed 😊
What's númber of the screwdriver in inches or métrical decimal? Allen or classical screws? Thanks Grettings from Canary Islands Spain. Please don't forgett the question....
I tried the procedure. The long screw driver opened the screw/bolt fine. I also put in the new blade. BUT the blabe does not turn 90 degrees!!! Have put HD40 everywhere there could be a jam. Still no luck. Mine is a ST350 jigsaw. Any help?

Hi, perhaps a blade might have snapped off in there? Can you see anything? By loosening the bolt, it should release anything stuck. Have you tried turning the blade with pliers? It can be very stiff. Good luck with it, I hope you can get it working 🙂

Probably way too late and you've long figured it out, but the Allen key is to remove or tilt the base plate.

Flat head long screwdriver. Mine is fairly narrow too but it seems to work
You should have added the size of the screwdriver, for those who need to go and buy one that will fit!
Has anyone got the required size of screwdriver required thanks all

what is the length of the screwdriver, thanks?
